1. INITIAL PLANS

2.  Log your initial thoughts regarding the set brief- What could you
make? What are you good at? Your opinions? Can be a list of
bullet points of reactions- does not have to be full prose. Can be
hand drawn and scanned in.
I first thought about what type of film I would make for this and I came to the conclusion that I would make a horror/ creepy film or it would
have a very eerie short film because that's a very different type of fear and I like to use this type of fear in my work as it’s the most
memorable and best type of scary because it touches the sense of fear really well. I thought about how I would put this film together and I
came to the conclusion I would use no antagonist I would have them there but I wouldn't’t show them and the reason for this is that the
recourses for the dark antagonist would be difficult to do where as making something as simple as not showing them seems much easier.

3. Potential idea 1 : Horror/ creepy
Story
The idea behind this potential story idea is a short
film about a certain minute of the day, the idea is
to give a morale lesson that even things you don’t
like or hate can be ignored in time and this would
be shown by putting someone through horrible
experiences that he cant stop. This would show
someone going through some sort of horror at the
same minute of the hour everyday and by the end
of it he will just have to live with it.
Location
The location of this would be first set in a kitchen
and then in a living room of some sort then it
would move to a bedroom and end back in the
kitchen where it all started.
Props
The props that will be needed, clothes, baseball
bat. Robes. Chairs and a tv.
Devices needed
A camera, a computer in college with photoshop
and adobe premier installed so that the work can
be completed.
Potential idea 2 : Comedy Sketch
Story
The idea behind the comedy sketch is that it
would be set in a classroom and done in the
documentary style of the office tv show that
used to be on the BBC by rick Gervais, it
would be realistic as a college environment
but would have strange things happening
within that seem realistic but would be all
fake for comedy it would create its own inside
jokes and other aspects of comedy, the
plotline would focus around the student doing
work and getting it completed and it would go
in depth with the different parts of how life in
a college classroom, it would all be fake and
not really how it is but I would make it look as
realistic as possible.
Location
This would be set in a college classroom and
would be easy for me to make as I could film
it in college in the hours that I am in.
Props
I will need phones and computers as the
props.
Potential idea 3 : comedy/horror sketch
Story
This would yet again be set in a college
classroom because its an easy location
to get to, the idea is to make it so that it
is easy to get location for and I can
spend more time editing the work and
making it loo good if I can film it early on
with easy in a good location. The story
would focus around students having
horror happen to them creepy eerie
things but like on ‘at worlds end’ where
when aliens come Simon peg starts
swearing at them because he's drunk
and explains he speaks for all humans. I
like this concept and I would intend to
apply it to a college environment so it is
more relatable to people watching.
Location
This will be filmed in college as I can get
there easily and this will also quick to
film and plan for.
Props
The only props that will be needed for
this are phones and computers.

4. Final idea : Horror/creepy
Story opening
The story will open up and it will have the main
character in the kitchen washing up and cleaning and
the clock will move up to10:48 this is the time that the
main character would have to fold the washing and
this is a task that the main character hates most in the
world and he always does it within the minute of
10:48. the main character will then make a wish that
he doesn’t have to do this task again, or he wishes
that wouldn't care/ hate doing it so much, the audience
wouldn’t have the audio to hear this which means it
would be simple music playing as he wishes it. This
leaves the audience to question what he wished for
but that will be something you can work out at the end
of the short film.
Act 1
In this act it goes to the next day from his wish and he
will go back downstairs to do the washing at that time
but this time at 10:48 as he starts to do the washing
the door will randomly swing open and the main
character will go for a look at what caused it while
shocked this scene will finish when he shrugs it off as
if it is nothing.
Act 2
This scene will show the main character walking down
the stairs again to do the washing again and this time
as he starts on yet again that exact minute the door
will open again with a figure in it that would just drop to
the ground with nothing left but a cloak like on star
wars a new hope with obi wan Kenobi.
Act 3
Spooky things start happening
at that minute everyday
causing the main character to
panic and be scared by what's
happening worrying about it
and been shocked as to what
he should do about the
problem.
Act 4
In this act it will show the main
character trying to figure out
what's happening and why,
realising at the end of this
scene that it always happens
at the time he just so happens
to do the washing this will get
him thinking for a bit, thinking
about what he did to deserve
it.
Act 5
he starts to prepare for the
minute making preparations
so that he can attempt to fight
back against it this scene will
show him stand up to it.
Act 6
This act will show the main character fighting back
against the minute showing that he isn’t scared
anymore and combating against it, these attempts will
sadly all turn out as fails and he will realise that there
is no way that him alone stands a chance of fighting
back against whatever it is that is haunting him or
spooking him.
Act 7
The main character yet again doesn’t know what to do
he starts to loose sanity over it frustrated as to being
able to do nothing and having no way to combat it, he
will be scared again.
Act 8 – final part
He will start to do the washing again at that minute
and he will find that it is the only thing that keeps his
mind of what happening at that minute and it is the
only thing that keeps him sane in that horrible minute
that he has, he will no longer hate doing the chore at
that minute now it is his only solitude this now gives
him what he wished for at the beginning, that he would
not hate this chore, and the ending scene is him
happily getting along with the chore not noticing the
things going on around him in that minute.
Location
Will be filmed in a kitchen, living room and bedroom in
my house meaning I will need to book out equipment.
Props
I will be needing a baseball bat, a phone and some
washing.

6. Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
For the mood board I went with a variety of different parts of colours and images to include that I thought could possibly cover all aspects of my work.
To start with I added 2 images of the colour red , the image is plain red this is to symbolise aggression, danger and strength, this is the same for the
second image it has different shades of red. The next image that I hose was a colour scheme of different shades of grey this is to represent luxury
and also grittiness this is based off the setting of where the short film will be filmed and I think that this will work well overall. Then I added in a picture
of a clock the reason for this is because the requirements for the short film is that it must include. The next image that I added was of a living room this
because this room will be the main setting of the short film. The next image is a black Patten and the reason for this is for the atmosphere setting. I
then added in 2 images of blue sky and this is to represent the tone of the movie light hearted and colourful with meaning. I added an image of a
baseball bat next and the reason for this is simply because that will be a prop within my film. Next I added in a women on a sofa this is to represent
the character of the main character because he is lazy and doesn’t want to do chores around the house at that time. I then added a picture of
pennywise from ‘it’ the reason for this, the eerie ness within that film is great and memorable and I want to take inspiration from this film. I then added
in a picture of witch (typical image of a witch) the reason for this is the represent the generic/classic eeriness that will be shown in this short film. The
next image is a watch and the reason for this is because it’s a required piece and also necessary for the story as the main character will be checking it
allot. The next image I chose was of a car this is a possible idea for a scene of the main character trying to escape not sure if I will have it in yet
though. A knife is the next image this is to show him arming himself. The next two images are nightmare on elm street I like to tone of these and style
of poster I believe it works well, I want this nightmare vibe for my short film as well so I thought it was good to include. I then added a typical
Halloween pumpkin I like the tone of this image and the mood it sets it has a nice Halloween style to it. Then there is the moon picture which has a
really nice tone to it like the next image which is the moon shining through dark misty clouds.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
This will influence my final product because it will have a main focus are all of these themes and colours I think that the toned images created a really
good atmosphere that will influence my final project because of the sheer Halloween mood it sets the tone for and this is important to me and my short
film in order to get exactly what I want from it. The style is follows is a Halloween nightmare mode style and I think this is something that will influence
my short film the style that these types of images use to set the tone and influence the mood is something that will most certainly influence my final
prodject.

7.  I will need to research different camera shots and techniques on how to do them I feel that would be a good start on research, I will
also need to research other short films and products and what techniques they use in there movies example transition between
scenes because I believe that this could actually prove to be very useful when I am making my final project/short film. I will also need
to research big budget movies and how they all come together and the different techniques they use, I will also research audio
techniques how movies use different variations of footsteps for different scenes to raise or lower atmosphere and suspense. I will
need to research what recourses I will need and be using and how to use those resources if I haven't before efficiently, I know how
to use premier but that is not to say that me researching things about it wont be useful I could pick up and learn new things and use
them when making the short film or when I'm editing it together when making it can be useful to know how I'm going to edit it before
hand so I can get certain shots for certain moments. I will also need to research possible locations where I was going to film to make
sure that they would be available for me to film in such locations if I did wish to.
