This document provides an overview of wireless and mobile network technologies from 1G to 3G. 1G networks used analog signals and FDMA, but had poor voice quality, battery life, and no security. 2G networks like GSM introduced digital modulation and used TDMA or CDMA, enabling limited data services but unable to support video. 3G networks allow simultaneous voice and data transfer like music and email over the same network, delivering broadband capacity to support more customers at a lower cost than 2G, using technologies like W-CDMA and UTMS.
