‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 66
Modi'sVisionaryOdyssey!
The narrators share their experiences of interacting with PM Modi in Kashmir, discussing his vision to bring bullet
trains to India, Modi’s profound fondness for Himachal Pradesh, and a multitude of other intriguing anecdotes.
A Kashmiri farmer's sweet
memories of PM Modi
had a deep wish to meet
Modiji. But I didn’t have
the wherewithal for the
same. I thought of several options
and finally started to save money
with the hope that with my sav-
ings I might be able to do some-
thing for the PM someday, which
could bring him closer to me. I
started saving in 2013 and per-
sisted with it for the next 4-5 years
to live my dream of meeting the
PM.
Finally, when I had enough
money, an idea struck me. In our
culture, the ‘pheran’holds an im-
portant place. I planned to make a
Kashmiri pheran (long gown) for
the PM. I bought the best clothes
for it, but the problem was getting
the right measurements. I had no
idea what the PM’s exact cloth
measurement was to make the
pheran fit him perfectly. Then I
remembered that my father’s
body structure closely matched
Modiji’s. I then took my father to
the tailor’s shop and asked the tai-
lor to make a pheran of his size.
After a few days, I received the
pheran from him and soon started
off for Delhi with the gift for the
PM. I was worried as to how the
gift could be delivered to the PM.
My only option was to walk to the
PM’s official residence, even
though there was heavy security
there. I reached there anyway and
told the security men that I was
from Kashmir and I wanted to
present this gift to PM Modi. The
security men told me there was no
permission for anyone to go in,
and they could not allow it. Dis-
heartened, I returned to Kashmir
and then sent the pheran by cou-
rier to the PM. A few days later, I
got a call from the PMO. I had
also sent a letter to the PM along
with the gift, mentioning my pur-
pose and also my address and
phone number. So, someone
called me up from there and asked
me about my previous effort to
meet the PM in Delhi. When they
had the details, the person on the
call told me that the PM was wear-
ing the pheran sent by me, and he
was delivering a speech in Srina-
gar with the same attire. I was
elated at this news. I was on my
farm in my village and had no idea
that Modiji was in Srinagar.
I came back home in the evening
and asked my friend to show me
the video clip of the PM’s speech
if it was available somewhere on
the internet. I wanted to see my
favourite person wearing my gift.
What PM Modi has done for the
poor, we can never thank him
enough.We only want Kashmir to
progress the way Gujarat has done
under Modiji.

Modi's love for the
bullet train has far
deeper objectives
he bullet train in India is
fast inching towards re-
ality, but way back in
2007, no one in the country could
have even thought of its possibil-
ity, though Narendra Modi was
already dreaming of bringing the
train to India.
During his Japan visit in 2007,
when Modiji travelled the Shin-
kansen, as the super-speciality
train is known in that country, he
was deeply interested in learning
all the nitty-gritty of the opera-
tional efficiency and success of
the train.
The fact is, it was not just for
the thrill of it; his interests lay
deep beneath the surficial glitter.
Modiji knew that the future of
development was here. He un-
derstood before the time that the
bullet train was to be an impor-
tant condiment of urbanisation
back in his own country. The bul-
let train for him was and is never
about the building of a train per
se. It is the overall development
that the train is likely to bring. It
is about developing cities on the
way to the train that drove him.
Therefore, he dove deep into the
whole running of the system and
how it could be replicated in In-
dia. Modiji was perhaps the first
Indian dignitary who, on his re-
quest, was allowed to enter and
travel in the cockpit of a high-
profile train. Normally, no one is
allowed in.
Once inside, Modiji had nu-
merous questions to the experts
on how the train was operated in
an earthquake zone that Japan
was in. He asked about primary
and secondary signals, the gap
between the two, what the fail-
safe mechanism was, and how
the infrastructure was built.
Overall, it was a very engrossing
and informative conversation
that was very relevant for
applications back in India.
Even during his 2012 visit to Ja-
pan, he and then-Japanese PM
ShinzoAbe had a meeting sitting
on the bullet train.

Opportunity in
adversity, the
Himachal story
arendra Modi is emo-
tionally attached to
Himachal Pradesh. He
was at one time the party in
charge of the state. On his way
to Dalhousie from Shimla, he
had to make an unscheduled
landing at Gaggal airport due
to bad weather. I reached there
when I learned about the inci-
dent. The first thing on Modi-
ji’s mind at that time was pub-
lic connection. As soon as I
reached there and met him, the
first thing he asked me was if a
public meeting could be ar-
ranged at the place. This also
struck me as impeccable time
management. Modiji is a man
who won’t waste a single min-
ute and makes fruitful use of
any spare time he has in hand.
This is something we all can
learn from him. He was ready
for the public meeting at Dhar-
amsala, which we put in place
in just half an hour, and he ad-
dressed an enthusiastic crowd.

This year, India found ample cause for celebration,
which included the inauguration of a new Parliament, the
remarkable success of two space missions, the efficient
hosting of the G20 summit, a commendable rescue mission
liberating individuals from a collapsed tunnel, and a diverse
array of other momentous events, each contributing to
the nation’s narrative of accomplishment
Chandrayaan-3’s Historic Feat!
The Moon mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) Chandrayaan-3
scripted history by successfully landing on
the lunar surface on August 23. With the Lander accomplishing
a ‘soft landing’ on the Moon’s south pole, India became the only
country to have ever done so. India became only the fourth
country in the world to land a spacecraft on the moon.
ISRO’s 1st Indian
Mission to Study Sun
The second major success for ISRO was the
successful launch of Aditya L-1. This Surya
mission was launched on September 2. Aditya
L1 spacecraft is nearing its final stage, and the
process of entering the L1 point is expected to
be completed by January 7, 2024. The objective
of the Aditya-L1 mission is to study the Sun from
orbit around L1.
Major security breach
rocks Parliament
On the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attacks,
in a major security breach, two men jumped into
the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors’ gallery on
December 13, raised slogans, and opened canisters
that emitted yellow smoke, triggering panic among
those present and raising questions. The two men
held in Lok Sabha were seated in the visitors’ gallery
and took out canisters from their shoes.
‘Modi Ki Guarantee’
wins Hindi heartland
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stamped his electoral
authority on the Hindi heartland ahead of the 2024
Lok Sabha polls as the BJP wrested Rajasthan and
Chhattisgarh from the Congress while retaining
Madhya Pradesh with a two-thirds majority. The
Congress, however, defeated the BRS to secure
a convincing win in Telangana. With the current
victory, Modi-led BJP is in pole position yet again.
India gets a new
Parliament building
On May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
officially inaugurated new Parliament Building
and installed sacred ‘Sengol’ in the Lok Sabha
chamber, next to Speaker’s chair, after performing
puja. 20 Opposition parties boycott the event.

rescued from Silkyara tunnel
41 construction workers were trapped in an under-construction
tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district after it collapsed on
November 12. The challenging rescue operation concluded
on the 16th day after all the trapped workers were brought
out. Literally, moving the mountain ‘rat hole miners’ did what
machines couldn’t do to rescue workers inside Silkyara Tunnel.
World hails India’s successful
organisation of G-20 Summit
The G20 Summit was held on September 9–10, and leaders
from the most powerful nations in the world descended in New
Delhi. Marking culmination of India’s year-long presidency
of G20, the summit concluded with the adoption of a G20
Leaders’ Declaration. India’s presidency came at a time when
the world was undergoing a geo-political churn.

MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS
When a tragedy disrupts her life, a teen moves in with her guardian's big family in a small town and
learns new lessons about love, hope and friendship. Created by Melanie Halsall. Starring Nikki
Rodriguez, Sarah Rafferty, and Marc Blucas in the key roles. My Life With the Walter Boys, adapted by
Melanie Halsall from the book by Ali Novak, recognizes the tropes to make the love triangle land, but
not how to bring them to life. It may not break any new ground, but it’s a pleasant ride and the first
Wattpad adaptation done right. The series follows a blueprint that’s comfortable in its predictability
and calibrated to pluck all the customary notes, at times a little too self-consciously.
ARCHER: SEASON 14
Sterling Archer, a risk-taking spy, and his fellow agents indulge in amusing escapades. This
animated comedy explores their turbulent lives, which are filled with illicit activity, drug dealings,
and friendships. The first half of the season has breathed new life into the show and the new team
dynamics have an appeal that would certainly outlast the final eight episodes. For more than a
decade, Archer and company have had audiences laughing over the chaotic antics of the world’s
most ridiculous group of superspies. Season 14 looks to take the series out on its final set of mis-
sions, if the first four episodes are any indication, we won’t want to say goodbye by the end of it.

The narrators share their experiences of interacting with PM Modi in Kashmir, discussing his vision to bring bullet trains to India, Modi’s profound fondness for Himachal Pradesh, and a multitude of other intriguing anecdotes. A Kashmiri farmer's sweet memories of PM Modi had a deep wish to meet Modiji. But I didn’t have the wherewithal for the same. I thought of several options and finally started to save money with the hope that with my sav- ings I might be able to do some- thing for the PM someday, which could bring him closer to me. I started saving in 2013 and per- sisted with it for the next 4-5 years to live my dream of meeting the PM. Finally, when I had enough money, an idea struck me. In our culture, the ‘pheran’holds an im- portant place. I planned to make a Kashmiri pheran (long gown) for the PM. I bought the best clothes for it, but the problem was getting the right measurements. I had no idea what the PM’s exact cloth measurement was to make the pheran fit him perfectly. Then I remembered that my father’s body structure closely matched Modiji’s. I then took my father to the tailor’s shop and asked the tai- lor to make a pheran of his size. After a few days, I received the pheran from him and soon started off for Delhi with the gift for the PM. I was worried as to how the gift could be delivered to the PM. My only option was to walk to the PM’s official residence, even though there was heavy security there. I reached there anyway and told the security men that I was from Kashmir and I wanted to present this gift to PM Modi. The security men told me there was no permission for anyone to go in, and they could not allow it. Dis- heartened, I returned to Kashmir and then sent the pheran by cou- rier to the PM. A few days later, I got a call from the PMO. I had also sent a letter to the PM along with the gift, mentioning my pur- pose and also my address and phone number. So, someone called me up from there and asked me about my previous effort to meet the PM in Delhi. When they had the details, the person on the call told me that the PM was wear- ing the pheran sent by me, and he was delivering a speech in Srina- gar with the same attire. I was elated at this news. I was on my farm in my village and had no idea that Modiji was in Srinagar. I came back home in the evening and asked my friend to show me the video clip of the PM’s speech if it was available somewhere on the internet. I wanted to see my favourite person wearing my gift. What PM Modi has done for the poor, we can never thank him enough. We only want Kashmir to progress the way Gujarat has done under Modiji. I Irshad Hussain Naikoo Farmer, Anantnag, Kashmir Modi's love for the bullet train has far deeper objectives he bullet train in India is fast inching towards re- ality, but way back in 2007, no one in the country could have even thought of its possibil- ity, though Narendra Modi was already dreaming of bringing the train to India. During his Japan visit in 2007, when Modiji travelled the Shin- kansen, as the super-speciality train is known in that country, he was deeply interested in learning all the nitty-gritty of the opera- tional efficiency and success of the train. The fact is, it was not just for the thrill of it; his interests lay deep beneath the surficial glitter. Modiji knew that the future of development was here. He un- derstood before the time that the bullet train was to be an impor- tant condiment of urbanisation back in his own country. The bul- let train for him was and is never about the building of a train per se. It is the overall development that the train is likely to bring. It is about developing cities on the way to the train that drove him. Therefore, he dove deep into the whole running of the system and how it could be replicated in In- dia. Modiji was perhaps the first Indian dignitary who, on his re- quest, was allowed to enter and travel in the cockpit of a high- profile train. Normally, no one is allowed in. Once inside, Modiji had nu- merous questions to the experts on how the train was operated in an earthquake zone that Japan was in. He asked about primary and secondary signals, the gap between the two, what the fail- safe mechanism was, and how the infrastructure was built. Overall, it was a very engrossing and informative conversation that was very relevant for applications back in India. Even during his 2012 visit to Ja- pan, he and then-Japanese PM ShinzoAbe had a meeting sitting on the bullet train. T Mayur Shah Indo-Japan Relations Expert Opportunity in adversity, the Himachal story arendra Modi is emo- tionally attached to Himachal Pradesh. He was at one time the party in charge of the state. On his way to Dalhousie from Shimla, he had to make an unscheduled landing at Gaggal airport due to bad weather. I reached there when I learned about the inci- dent. The first thing on Modi- ji’s mind at that time was pub- lic connection. As soon as I reached there and met him, the first thing he asked me was if a public meeting could be ar- ranged at the place. This also struck me as impeccable time management. Modiji is a man who won’t waste a single min- ute and makes fruitful use of any spare time he has in hand. This is something we all can learn from him. He was ready for the public meeting at Dhar- amsala, which we put in place in just half an hour, and he ad- dressed an enthusiastic crowd.
