‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 62

id you know that PM Nar-
endra Modi used devices
like pager and digital di-
ary 3 decades back? He always
used latest technology for work
and encouraged BJP workers to
shift to computers in early 90s. No
wonder today he is the man spear-
heading India’s digital revolution.
Way back in 1988-89, he used
to have a digital diary, which no
one had even thought or seen in
this part of the world. He had got
it from the US or somewhere in
the west in which all his important
contact numbers were saved. It
was to be learnt from him how
technology could be used to the
best of our advantage.
The pager had come to India not
before 1995. Modi ji was perhaps
the only person in the country at
that time who used a pager.
Modi ji had a mobile phone at a
time when the same had not
reached the masses in India and
only a few people had the privi-
lege of having it. The phones
available here were bulky and
cumbersome. But Modi ji’s mo-
bile was small and trendy. We
didn’t understand much but he
used to say decades back that this
thing would play an important
role in the future of the world.
In 1990, in the Kanpur BJP of-
fice, typewriters were used for
office work. They were slow and work got delayed. It was still
early days for computers in India
but Modi ji introduced the same
in the office. Work became fast
and efficient. Even when the in-
ternet arrived, Gujarat BJP office
would probably be the first to
have used it.
Almost 35 years back, Modi ji,
chairing a party meet, asked those
of us having an e-mail ID to raise
our hand. Most of us looked at
each other asking what is that? He
said by the time the second meet-
ing takes place in the evening,
everyone should have their e-mail
IDs ready. It is today that we are
realising its value.

who completely transformed the

When people’s feedback was
taken, it was clear that they had
found a new life through the
Postal Department. Earlier they
had to walk or take the trouble to
cover 7-8 kilometres to reach
their nearest bank for even the
smallest errand.
Today a tech-savvy postman
reaches their house and hands
them over their pension or salary.
There are more than 6 crore ac-
counts today in India Post Pay-

4.5-crore are covered under the

Modi ji infused banking tech-

network of the postal department
to deliver services to every home

Modi ji's booth mantra
for electoral success
first met Narendra Modi
in Jwala ji (Himachal
Pradesh) in 1996. In the
Sangathan circles, Modi ji used
to say, no matter how much hard
we work and how well we do,
the key is to strengthen our
booth. If we can’t ensure that we
win our booth, we can’t win any
election to assembly or else-
where. No MLA can win, no
where can we form our govern-
ment if we fail in the fundamen-
tal yardstick of electoral suc-
cess, i.e. winning our booth.
He used to say, I am talking
about all the senior members of
the party across the country, that
if we continue doing perfunctory
meetingsandothersuchexercises
that only plan and discuss and
don’t focus on how to win our
booth, it is a failure of strategy.
Modi ji repeatedly urged his
partymentopayattentiononlyon
winning your booth, other things
will take care of themselves. We
still swear by the slogan he
coined, ‘Apna Booth Sabse Maj-
boot’and follow the same in let-
ter and spirit across the country.
He is very clear in his head
that winning the booth means
winning the Vidhan Sabha and
winning the Vidhan Sabha
means forming our government.
Modi’s ‘mantra’ infused enthu-
siasm and vigour in the Sanga-
than and the result was, the BJP
formed its government in the
Hill State in 1998.

PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI
NEVER SEEN A CM
SO DEEPLY INVOLVED
t was way back in 2006,
when the first phase of
Delhi Metro was just
completed and the second phase
was starting, when I got a mes-
sage from Modi. He wanted me
to come down toAhmedabad for
a Metro rail project for the city.
He was very keen on having a
Metro network in the
state capital.
I went to
Ahmedabad soon and
that was my first
meeting with CM
Modi. He asked me
how do we go about
having a Metro in
Ahmedabad? I told
him that the Delhi
project could be an
excellent model to emulate and
for that we first need a DPR. I
also said DMRC was perfectly
capable of preparing the DPR.
Even before I had finished, he
gave me a go-ahead on the spot.
He immediately told his secre-
tary, before Mr Sreedharan
leavesAhmedabad, the letter for
project report by DMRC should
be in his pocket.
The most important memory
I have was regarding the pro-
posal to have a Metro route in
front of the Sabarmati Ashram.
At that time it was to be an ele-
vated route. Modi was steadfast
in preserving the
Ashram’s sanctity
during construction
of Ahmedabad Met-
ro. He went so far as
to request alterations
to original plan, en-
suring that the chaos
of Metro station as a
result of crowd and
train movement
didn’t ruin the peace
of place and create disruption
for visitors. We had to change
the route to save the Ashram.
Even during making of DPR,
he was completely involved. A
CM himself going into smallest
details like no. of stations, loca-
tion etc. is something unseen.

RIVER FRONT BELL TRAGEDY

North candidate
Shanti Dhariwal called a
press conference on
Wednesday regarding the
accident on the riverfront
and accused Dhananjay,
son of engineer Deven-
dra Arya, of being hand
in glove with the BJP.
Dhananjay, however,
claimed that he was
working for Congress
and had also participated
in Rahul Gandhi’s pady-
atra. Engineer Devendra
Arya and his colleague
died on the riverfront on
November 19. Dhariwal,
during a press conference
at his Nayapura resi-
dence, talked about the
controversy arising over
the death of engineer De-
vendra Arya.
Devendra Arya’s son
Dhananjay has opposed
Dhariwal’s statement. He
said, “My father has died
and this should not be po-
liticised. I work for Con-
gress in Jodhpur.”
Shanti Dhariwal on
Wednesday challenged
Pm Modi to investigate
the death of an engineer
in Chambal Riverfront
which he has been ac-
cused of causing.
He said there have
been several PMs in the
past but none like the cur-
rent one who made per-
sonal allegations against
him without proof.
The allegations against
Dhariwal stem from the
death of metal bell de-
signer Devender Arya
and his aide, who on
Sunday came under a 75-
kg bell while taking it
out of the mould with the
help of a crane in the
Chambal Riverfront.
In the wake of the engineer’s death, his son, Dhananjaya Arya
had accused MLA Shanti Dhariwal and chief architect Anoop
Bartaria of mounting pressure on his father to unlock the bell
from 27 casting mould boxes before its set timeline.
“You are Central govt,
and the PM with all
investigating
agencies under
you....go ahead with

It also said there was a

Jaipur
On Wednesday, BJP state
president CP Joshi held
massive meetings in Shri-
madhopur and Udaipur-
wati and took part in saf-
fron party’s roadshow as
well. During this time,
Joshi engaged in a special
conversation with First
India however, at the on-
set he avoided the ques-
tion related to the main
face among the various
faces of the CM, but said
that who may ever be the
CM, he will get the first
chance to make him wear
a turban. “I will be the
lucky person who would
be first to tie the turban on
our CM,” he said.
Joshi described PM
Modi’s road show as his-
torical and said that PM
Modi got tremendous re-
sponse in the city. Mean-
while, attacking CM Ge-
hlot and Congress, he said
that state govt is under
siege over farmer loan
waiver issue including pa-
per leak, corruption and
rapes.
CP Joshi claimed big
victory in East Rajasthan
and Shekhawati. On the
question related to Lok
Sabha Speaker Om Birla,
Joshi said, “Birla is cur-
rently on a constitutional
post but his service work
during the Corona period
was very good. Despite
holding a constitutional
post, he always made full
efforts in the matters of
development of Ra-
jasthan.” On run for tick-
ets, he replied, “All 200
tickets are of BJP.”

Minister Narendra Modi over the Enforcement

National Herald newspaper and said they will not
be scared of the BJP and that the Congress will
fight it out. Kharge, who addressed an election rally

a newspaper that was started by the first Prime
Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. “I feel sad today. My

YEDIYURAPPA APPEALS PEOPLE NOT TO GET
CHEATED BY CONGRESS’ KARNATAKA MODEL
Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa
on Wednesday accused the Congress of deceiv-
ing the people of Karnataka by not implementing
its five pre-poll guarantees after coming to power. The
former Karnataka chief minister also urged the people of
Telangana not to fall for Congress party’s “lies and empty
promises”. He said the ‘Karnataka model’ is Congress’

Pune: In a swipe at Congress leader Rahul
Gandhi over his remarks, Maharashtra
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

sinful can only think in such manner about Prime
Minister Narendra Modi. He said
Modi is the messiah for common
people and his third term from 2024
to 2029 will be the defining moment
for India. Queried on remarks made
by Rahul Gandhi, Fadnavis said
neither his (Rahul's) party nor the
people of the country take him seriously. Those
who are corrupt and sinful are scared of Modiji and
such people can think in that way about Modiji but
for the common people of India, he is a messiah,
protector of the country, and a prime minister who
is taking India ahead, he told reporters. “I said
more than BJP, this election is important for Bharat.
The way Modi ji has taken the country ahead, his

Va s u n d h a r a
Raje has said
that Rajasthan, which
was counted among the
leading states of the
country during the BJP
government, is now lag-
ging in progress in the
last five years. “Today,
there are schools here,
but no teachers, hospitals
without doctors, colleges
without lecturers and
there are vacancies but
no employment. This
government has ruined
the future of lakhs of un-
employed people through
paper leaks 19 times.
Now the curse of the un-
employed will affect the
Gehlot government,” she
said. She was speaking in
meetings organized in
support of Sanjeev Beni-
wal, BJP candidate in
Bhadra, Rajgarh candi-
date Sumitra Poonia, Al-
war candidate Sanjay
Sharma and Phulera can-
didate Nirmal Kumawat.
Raje said that every
child born in Rajasthan
will be born with a loan
of about Rs 70,000.
“In the history of Ra-
jasthan, the State has in-
curred the highest loan
during Gehlot’s rule.
This loan was taken by
the government not for
the development of the
State but for the Con-
gress.”
Raje also said, “Chief
Minister Ashok Gehlot
spends the government’s
treasury not on the peo-
ple of the State, but on his
MLAs. When the Con-
gress MLAs tried to top-
ple the government, a
huge amount of money
was spent in fortifying
the MLAs. They stayed
in five star hotels. This
money belonged to the
people,” further adding
that today the investors
are running away from
the State of Rajasthan be-
cause the most expensive
electricity in the country
is in Rajasthan.
Vasundhara Raje waves at the supporters during a public
meeting held in support of Sanjeev Kumar Beniwal in Bhadra on

naugurat-
ed on July
13, 2020,
the Net-
T h e a t r e
or NetTheat, an innova-
tive virtual theatre plat-
form, emerged as a pio-
neering feat by theatre
enthusiasts. Conceived
by senior theatre artist
Anil Marwari during the
pandemic-induced clo-
sures, this web theatre,
also known as Next Era
Theatre, marked a sig-
nificant milestone in the
entertainment industry.
By June 30, 2023, it suc-
cessfully conducted over
150 online live cultural
programmes, setting a
remarkable record with
the participation of more
than 750 artists. This ini-
tiative not only adapted
to the challenging cir-
cumstances brought
about by COVID-19 but
also provided a platform
for artists to showcase
their talents and creativ-
ity in a digital realm.
The ground-breaking
NetTheat stands as a
truly unique theatrical
venture, distinguished by
the absence of a physical
audience gallery. This
one-of-a-kind format has
yet to find a parallel,
making it the world’s
first virtual theatre. Rec-
ognizing its exceptional
nature, India’s Book of
Records immortalized
this innovation in its
2023 edition. Moreover,
institutions worldwide
have embraced it as an
essential component of
general knowledge edu-
cation.
Under the guidance of
Director Manoj Swami,
NetTheat has staged over
150 live performances to
date. Cultural presenta-
tions are so in demand
that reservations are
made three months in ad-
vance. What sets this
platform apart is its com-
mitment to artists: no
fees are charged, ensur-
ing financial accessibili-
ty. Noteworthy artists,
such as Padma Shri
awardees Ahmed Hus-
sain and Mohammad
Hussain, have graced
this virtual stage, repre-
senting a diverse array of
talents from Rajasthan
and beyond.
Operating as a prosce-
nium theatre on the roof-
top (20x20 mm) of resi-
dential space, Net-Thea-
tre boasts all the quintes-
sential elements of a
traditional theatre –
lights, curtains, stages,
sets, sound, backstage
crew, and performers.
However, the most in-
triguing aspect lies in its
digital reach. Through
this platform, artists can
record their performanc-
es and broadcast them
from any corner of the
globe, transcending geo-
graphical boundaries. In
essence, the NetTheat
experience has traversed
the hands of the audi-
ence, bringing the es-
sence of live theatre di-
rectly into the comfort of
their homes.
In a recent installment
of NetTheat pro-
grammes, a cohort of
prodigious young tal-
ents, aged 10 to 12, or-
chestrated a mesmeriz-
ing performance under
the discerning eye of
Rajendra Sharma Raju.
Hailing from the es-
teemed music lineage of
Jaipur, the ensemble of
13 budding artists deliv-
ered an enchanting ren-
dition of “Albela Sajan
Aayo Ri” and “Mora Ati
Man Sukh Payo Ri” their
voices harmonizing
seamlessly with rhythms
that held the audience
captive.
The auditory journey
continued with a soulful
rendition of the re-
nowned Sufi Kalam
“Dama Dam Mast Qa-
landar” marking a pin-
nacle in their perfor-
mance, and culminated
with an exuberant deliv-
ery of “Chhap Tilak Sab
Chhini Re Mose Naina
Mila.” Throughout the
programme, the musical
prowess of artists such as
Meezaan Hussain, Ar-
maan, Zeeshan, Ejaan,
and Elesh was evident
they hit the first note, of-
fering a glimpse into
what may very well be
the future of music.
Complementing this
ensemble, instrumental
virtuosos Mohsin Khan
on tabla, Faizal on
dholak, Zeeshan on gui-
tar, Ayaz Khan on khar-
tal, and Lucky and Ri-
yan Khan on keyboard
provided a nuanced and
effective accompani-
ment, enriching the
overall tapestry of the
performance. The even-
ing unfolded as a testa-
ment to the promising
talent emerging from the
Jaipur music family,
leaving an indelible im-
pression on both the pre-
sent and the anticipated
future of musical
expression.

held at Parijaat 2 ad-
dressed a critical issue,
the state of education in
slums. The exhibition,
which drew attention to
the common practice of
distributing sweets,
chocolates, and clothes
without addressing the
educational needs of
slum children, gained
momentum when Dr
Jagdeesh Chandra joined
in the discussion. The
pressing question of the
government’s role in
slum education was
raised by child author
Anay Saxena, with Dr
Chandra fully endorsing
the concern.
The founder of
CREARE Foundation
shared the challenges
faced when attempting to
enroll slum children in
schools, citing the re-
quirement for a birth
certificate, an obstacle
for those born on the
streets.
The CREARE Herit-
age Show showcased
around 250 canvases
created by participating
children, with the theme
of equality resonating
strongly. The inclusion
of slum children in the
exhibition sparked dis-
cussions among visitors,
shedding light on the
need for justice in their
educational opportuni-
ties.
The exhibition wit-
nessed the participation
of notable figures, in-
cluding Kuldeep

from the United King-

Sally Forn. Celebrity

  • 2. PERSPECT VE 02 Jaipur, Thursday | November 23, 2023 www.firstindia.co.in firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur thefirstindia thefirstindia thefirstindia ‘MODI HAI TO MUMKIN HAI…’ UNTOLD STORIES OF PM MODI — PART 62 NaMo ThePMwith PANACHE id you know that PM Nar- endra Modi used devices like pager and digital di- ary 3 decades back? He always used latest technology for work and encouraged BJP workers to shift to computers in early 90s. No wonder today he is the man spear- heading India’s digital revolution. Way back in 1988-89, he used to have a digital diary, which no one had even thought or seen in this part of the world. He had got it from the US or somewhere in the west in which all his important contact numbers were saved. It was to be learnt from him how technology could be used to the best of our advantage. The pager had come to India not before 1995. Modi ji was perhaps the only person in the country at that time who used a pager. Modi ji had a mobile phone at a time when the same had not reached the masses in India and only a few people had the privi- lege of having it. The phones available here were bulky and cumbersome. But Modi ji’s mo- bile was small and trendy. We didn’t understand much but he used to say decades back that this thing would play an important role in the future of the world. In 1990, in the Kanpur BJP of- fice, typewriters were used for office work. They were slow and work got delayed. It was still early days for computers in India but Modi ji introduced the same in the office. Work became fast and efficient. Even when the in- ternet arrived, Gujarat BJP office would probably be the first to have used it. Almost 35 years back, Modi ji, chairing a party meet, asked those of us having an e-mail ID to raise our hand. Most of us looked at each other asking what is that? He said by the time the second meet- ing takes place in the evening, everyone should have their e-mail IDs ready. It is today that we are realising its value. You read PART 61 on NOVEMBER 16, 2023 THE PRECURSOR OF INDIA’S DIGITAL REVOLUTION Kamlesh Udasi Ahmedabad Bhawani Shankar Sharma Rajasthan BJP COMPILED AND EDITED BY SHASHIKANT SHARMA D PM REJUVENATED, TRANSFORMED THE POSTAL DEPARTMENT he Department of Posts was such a department that people thought it had lostitsuseandrelevanceincurrent times when the world had moved on to tech-based communication tools. It was PM Narendra Modi who completely transformed the utilityandperceptionofthedepart- ment by introducing technology in its functioning. He ensured postal banking at the doorsteps of people intheremotestcornersofthecoun- try through hand-held devices. When people’s feedback was taken, it was clear that they had found a new life through the Postal Department. Earlier they had to walk or take the trouble to cover 7-8 kilometres to reach their nearest bank for even the smallest errand. Ashwini Vaishnaw Union Minister of Communications T Today a tech-savvy postman reaches their house and hands them over their pension or salary. There are more than 6 crore accounts today in India Post Payment Bank. Of them, over 4.5-crore are covered under the doorstep banking facility Modi ji's booth mantra for electoral success first met Narendra Modi in Jwala ji (Himachal Pradesh) in 1996. In the Sangathan circles, Modi ji used to say, no matter how much hard we work and how well we do, the key is to strengthen our booth. If we can’t ensure that we win our booth, we can’t win any election to assembly or else- where. No MLA can win, no where can we form our govern- ment if we fail in the fundamen- tal yardstick of electoral suc- cess, i.e. winning our booth. He used to say, I am talking about all the senior members of the party across the country, that if we continue doing perfunctory meetingsandothersuchexercises that only plan and discuss and don’t focus on how to win our booth, it is a failure of strategy. Modi ji repeatedly urged his partymentopayattentiononlyon winning your booth, other things will take care of themselves. We still swear by the slogan he coined, ‘Apna Booth Sabse Maj- boot’and follow the same in let- ter and spirit across the country. He is very clear in his head that winning the booth means winning the Vidhan Sabha and winning the Vidhan Sabha means forming our government. Modi’s ‘mantra’ infused enthu- siasm and vigour in the Sanga- than and the result was, the BJP formed its government in the Hill State in 1998. I Sanjeev Katwal BJP leader, Himachal Pradesh PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI NEVER SEEN A CM SO DEEPLY INVOLVED t was way back in 2006, when the first phase of Delhi Metro was just completed and the second phase was starting, when I got a mes- sage from Modi. He wanted me to come down toAhmedabad for a Metro rail project for the city. He was very keen on having a Metro network in the state capital. I went to Ahmedabad soon and that was my first meeting with CM Modi. He asked me how do we go about having a Metro in Ahmedabad? I told him that the Delhi project could be an excellent model to emulate and for that we first need a DPR. I also said DMRC was perfectly capable of preparing the DPR. Even before I had finished, he gave me a go-ahead on the spot. He immediately told his secre- tary, before Mr Sreedharan leavesAhmedabad, the letter for project report by DMRC should be in his pocket. The most important memory I have was regarding the pro- posal to have a Metro route in front of the Sabarmati Ashram. At that time it was to be an ele- vated route. Modi was steadfast in preserving the Ashram’s sanctity during construction of Ahmedabad Met- ro. He went so far as to request alterations to original plan, en- suring that the chaos of Metro station as a result of crowd and train movement didn’t ruin the peace of place and create disruption for visitors. We had to change the route to save the Ashram. Even during making of DPR, he was completely involved. A CM himself going into smallest details like no. of stations, loca- tion etc. is something unseen. I E Sreedharan Metroman  Vol 5  Issue No. 167  RNI NO. RAJENG/2019/77764. In the wake of the engineer’s death, his son, Dhananjaya Arya had accused MLA Shanti Dhariwal and chief architect Anoop Bartaria of mounting pressure on his father to unlock the bell from 27 casting mould boxes before its set timeline. “You are Central govt, and the PM with all investigating agencies under you....go ahead with an investigation,” Dhariwal said T G20Summit:AImustbe safeforsociety:PMModi Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivers opening remarks at the Virtual G20 Leaders’ Summit, in New Delhi on Wednesday. Conceived by senior theatre artist Anil Marwari during the pandemic-induced clo- sures, this web theatre, also known as Next Era Theatre, marked a sig- nificant milestone in the entertainment industry. By June 30, 2023, it suc- cessfully conducted over 150 online live cultural programmes, setting a remarkable record with the participation of more than 750 artists. This ini- tiative not only adapted to the challenging cir- cumstances brought about by COVID-19 but also provided a platform for artists to showcase their talents and creativ- ity in a digital realm. The ground-breaking NetTheat stands as a truly unique theatrical venture, distinguished by the absence of a physical audience gallery. This one-of-a-kind format has yet to find a parallel, making it the world’s first virtual theatre. Rec- ognizing its exceptional nature, India’s Book of Records immortalized this innovation in its 2023 edition. Moreover, institutions worldwide have embraced it as an essential component of general knowledge edu- cation. Under the guidance of Director Manoj Swami, NetTheat has staged over 150 live performances to date. Cultural presenta- tions are so in demand that reservations are made three months in ad- vance. What sets this platform apart is its com- mitment to artists: no fees are charged, ensur- ing financial accessibili- ty. Noteworthy artists, such as Padma Shri awardees Ahmed Hus- sain and Mohammad Hussain, have graced this virtual stage, repre- senting a diverse array of talents from Rajasthan and beyond. Operating as a prosce- nium theatre on the roof- top (20x20 mm) of resi- dential space, Net-Thea- tre boasts all the quintes- sential elements of a traditional theatre – lights, curtains, stages, sets, sound, backstage crew, and performers. However, the most in- triguing aspect lies in its digital reach. Through this platform, artists can record their performanc- es and broadcast them from any corner of the globe, transcending geo- graphical boundaries. In essence, the NetTheat experience has traversed the hands of the audi- ence, bringing the es- sence of live theatre di- rectly into the comfort of their homes. In a recent installment of NetTheat pro- grammes, a cohort of prodigious young tal- ents, aged 10 to 12, or- chestrated a mesmeriz- ing performance under the discerning eye of Rajendra Sharma Raju. Hailing from the es- teemed music lineage of Jaipur, the ensemble of 13 budding artists deliv- ered an enchanting ren- dition of “Albela Sajan Aayo Ri” and “Mora Ati Man Sukh Payo Ri” their voices harmonizing seamlessly with rhythms that held the audience captive. The auditory journey continued with a soulful rendition of the re- nowned Sufi Kalam “Dama Dam Mast Qa- landar” marking a pin- nacle in their perfor- mance, and culminated with an exuberant deliv- ery of “Chhap Tilak Sab Chhini Re Mose Naina Mila.” Throughout the programme, the musical prowess of artists such as Meezaan Hussain, Ar- maan, Zeeshan, Ejaan, and Elesh was evident they hit the first note, of- fering a glimpse into what may very well be the future of music. Complementing this ensemble, instrumental virtuosos Mohsin Khan on tabla, Faizal on dholak, Zeeshan on gui- tar, Ayaz Khan on khar- tal, and Lucky and Ri- yan Khan on keyboard provided a nuanced and effective accompani- ment, enriching the overall tapestry of the performance. The even- ing unfolded as a testa- ment to the promising talent emerging from the Jaipur music family, leaving an indelible im- pression on both the pre- sent and the anticipated future of musical expression.
