1. Maria Ní Shúilleabháin completed the MSc in Business and Information
Technology in 2009.
I am working as a Development Manager with Make-A-Wish-Foundation in New York.
I am responsible for fundraising and ensuring that we have enough funding to
achieve our goals.
I chose to do the MSc because I felt that the subjects taught looked very interesting
And that it would help me in my career.
I thoroughly enjoyed doing the course, it gave me an opportunity to meet with
different people, learn new subjects and to develop my skills.
2. The MSc is a flexible course in that it allows students to research subjects of interest
That are more appealing to them under the guidance of the lecturers.
I would recommend this course because there is no other course like it in Ireland.
Lecturers are always available to provide support and the classes are small also. It
is an advantage also that practical and relevant subjects are being taught through the
medium of Irish.
DCU is a wonderful university, there is a wide range of resources available to help
students. The campus is perfectly situation in Dublin and very close to the city
centre.
3. I did the MSc on a part-time basis as well as working full time with a marketing
company at the time. It was a huge advantage having to be able to study and work at
at the same time because the course gave me the opportunity to put into practice
what I learned in my daily work life.
