2. • Sentence fragment begins with a capital letter and various
punctuation or punctuation like a complete sentence.
However, the sentence fragment does not have a complete
mind.
A sentence may contain the right place and time adverb
with a prepositional phrase or several phrases, but still the
sentence does not contain the exact relationship between
the subject and the verb.
Example:
in my school, during the break time and just before the
theacer enter the classroom
Sentence fragment is an incomplete sentence or a
sentence that is not complete but acts like it is a complete
sentence or an independent clause.
3. • The sentence explains the time and place clearly to the reader, but
the sentence does not have a subject and a verb.
Example:
Walking through the dark to find someone that he's been longing for.
The example above is a verbal expression to change something, the
actual subject is just about to appear.
4. • Sentences that have most of the components to form a
complete sentence but the most important part of the sentence
is still missing. For example the important part of a string of
verbs.
Example:
Some of my family members visiting Bali last holiday.
• A sentence that contains a relationship between a subject and a
verb, but the sentence has been subordinated to another idea
by a word that cannot stand alone.
Example:
Even though he had better body gesture and was by far the more
powerful dancer
The example above has a subject ( he), two verbs (had and was),
but the sentence above cannot stand alone because of the
subordinating conjunction, namely "even though".
5. • The sentence fragment above requires an independent
clause to complete the dependent clause (ie the more
powerful dancer).
Even though he had better body gesture and was by far the
more powerful dance, he lost because he was lacking of
emotion.
The underlined sentence is an example of an independent
clause. The fragment sentence above becomes a complete
sentence with an independent clause that follows the
dependent clause.
