This document discusses different types of run-on sentences: comma splices, fused sentences, and polysyndenton sentences. Comma splices join two independent clauses with only a comma, fused sentences unite independent clauses without punctuation or conjunctions, and polysyndenton sentences excessively use conjunctions. Examples of each type are provided to illustrate how to identify and correct run-on sentences.

Comma splices occur when two or more independent
clauses are joined and separated only by a comma.

me, I should feed her as soon
as possible.

6. Fused sentences
Fused sentences occur when several independent
clauses unite without being separated by
punctuation or any conjunctions.

He suggested that I have to
read someone to
macroeconomic he thought the
books would help me on
finishing my paper.

8. Polysyndenton sentences
Polysyndenton sentences are a typo of run-on
sentences where there is excessive use of
conjunctions.
