3. Front Cover
The front cover contains the ‘Foo Fighters’ ident at the top in red in a large font. This stands
out from the black background, and fans/consumers will instantly identify the band and may
feel more inclined to buy the album. This is a typical convention of songs of the pop/rock
genre, as both the Coldplay and Imagine Dragons albums.
Underneath this in the same font and colour is the album name ‘wasting light’. This is slightly
smaller than the ‘Foo Fighters’ text, as it is less of a selling point in comparison.
The artwork of the front cover is all of the members of the band in a collage with filtered
colours projected on their faces. The primary colours of which are red, pink, blue and green.
The background is plain black to make the artwork and title stand out. Plain backgrounds are
also conventions of pop/rock digipaks.

4. Back Cover
The back cover of the digipak is of similar nature to the front. The songs listed are
in the same font the the ‘Foo Fighters’ text on the front cover. This keeps a sense
of consistency in terms of theme and styles.
The artwork of the front is continued partially, as there is part of one of the band
members face in the same colours as the artwork on the front of the digipak. This
is not the main thing for the audience to focus on, as it is off center and is more in
the bottom left hand corner.
The small print regarding the record label is on the bottom of the digipak, next to
the bar code which is located in the bottom right. This is typical of all digipaks that
i have studied.
