1. Photoshop
This task was to take photos on a plain background that
included different shots that would show a variety of music
genres. After we captured the photos, we had to then use
Adobe Photoshop to produce different backgrounds for the
shots, creating a music CD cover look. After we came to
grips with how to work Photoshop, our CD covers actually
started to look up to a good standard. Learning how to
work Photoshop and what features it includes will be very
helpful in the future when designing our finished project.
Have a look below to see the original photos transform into
the final photoshopped edits.
2. The original photos before
the photoshop took place (this
task was not took seriously, as you can see from the first photo LOL!)
3. I'm not going to say much about this edit,
as it was our first attempt and we took it
as a laugh. We found out different tools to
use on the photo such as the cropping and
erasing tool. These came in handy when we
took the photoshop seriously as shown in the
other two photoshopped pictures.
Obviously this edit isn’t serious at all HAHA.
The first attempt on photoshop
LOL
4. Relates to the Gothic Metal Genre
Here, we have gone for a dark and
sinister design for a music album.
On this image, I used different tools
to make the photo a lot darker than
what it orignially was. This has
improved the look of this album
cover which was my aim at the
start.
I believe using Photoshop, has really
broadened my skills on editing and
will benefit me in future tasks.
5. Relates to the Pop Genre
We wanted to get the right genre in this
shot as we believe this pose is usually
seen on the genre of pop music in modern
society. I cut around the photo of me and
merged it onto the sparkly background. I
then found a photo of a heart and did the
same thing where I then wrote inside the
shape to make it look like a album cover
for a music video.
This is kind of the thing we are aiming for
when designing the front cover for the final
project. We are wanting to go for a
R&B/Pop genre, which will hopefully be
