Here is an example of Binary oppositions and why film producers use it. I have chosen a film to relate the binary oppositions to giving everyone a clear idea of how it is used.
1. Binary oppositions
What is Binary oppositions?
It is a pair of related terms or concept
that are opposite in meaning. It can be
classed as men vs women in society or
it can mean scary vs emotional in the
film industry. Film makers usually use
this term to differentiate there films to
attract different groups of the public
to watch their film. I believe we used
binary oppositions (good vs bad) as
the students in the log cabin are the in
the wrong for visiting the log cabin
alone yet there are a lot
2. Examples:
Most action films include a story
line of using good vs evil. They
want to show the typical bad
character being overtook by a good
character (the hero). It shows the
contrast between the character
within the film and explains the
plot behind it. Batman is a great
example of binary oppositions. It
shows the contrast of batman being
the hero of the (bad guy).
