PROFILE
A highly motivated North Sea Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) with a background in marine and
mechanical engineering (chartered status). A wealth of experience across a wide range of technologies
and disciplines, all built on a foundation of practical application (time served marine engineering
apprenticeship). A natural leader with an excellent understanding of team dynamics and individual

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Offshore Installation Manager: Currently on fixed jacket production platform with onsite drilling.
Previous OIM experience includes Floating Production Storage and Offload (FPSOs).
Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all personnel on-board and for all aspects of the
offshore operation to ensure a safe and efficient utilisation of the personnel and the facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Safety leadership regarding all aspects of on-board
safety processes and culture including the assurance of safety case mitigations against major
accident hazards via verification; Line manager for multi disciplined supervisors including
performance management, continuous appraisal and the training and development of all crew;
Implementation of management systems e.g. compliance with legislation, policy, standards and
procedures with particular attention to keystone legislation relating to the working environment,
emergency preparedness, and risk analyses; Optimisation of process plant and support systems,
including maintenance regimes and integrity assurance, to ensure production targets are achieved
in order to meet own company, and previously client, financial and operational targets.
• Operations manager (asset manager) for international FPSO contractor, responsible for the day to
day operational running of a North Sea Floating Production Storage and Offload vessel on behalf
of an International world leader in oil and gas E&P. Responsibilities included; maximising and
streamlining production, maintenance, marine systems, manpower, logistics, planning, structural
and safety systems integrity and all aspects of HSEQ. Line manager to 4 OIM’s and responsible
for all aspects of the offshore and onshore staff. Also responsible for shutdown/turnaround
planning and coordination ensuring minimum loss of production whilst ensuring all maintenance,
class and HSE requirements complied with.
• Operations Manager for RBG Ltd (and previously Cape Industrial services Ltd) – both international
service providers to the offshore industry. A strong emphasis on client interaction and customer
liaison with a remit to nurture relationships and grow business through effective delivery.
Responsible for numerous contracts providing personnel and services to several UK offshore
platforms.
• Engineering Manager (Royal Navy) responsible for the repair and maintenance of UK nuclear
submarines including all HSE issues. Planned and coordinated maintenance routines and
ensured shut down works were completed to time and budget prior to returning to operational
status.

• OIM on fixed jacket North Sea production platform (Previously Clyde and currently the Fulmar
Alpha platform). Responsibility for up to 200+ Crew with ongoing Production, Drilling, Wells campaigns and
major upgrade projects to increase future production capacity.
May to Sep 2012 OIM Teekay Petrojarl
• OIM on newly refitted FPSO undergoing mechanical completion (Norway) and commissioning of all
on board systems prior to hook-up in North Sea Huntington field.

• Actively recruited by RBG from Cape (rival company) to run specific contracts providing a range of
personnel and technical services to BP/Talisman Oil and Gas platforms within the mainland UK and
offshore continental shelf.
• Single point of contact for clients (Talisman & BP) with responsibility for developing further business
opportunities, providing technical expertise and advice in relation to stand alone engineering projects and
ensuring all work carried out within strict financial constraints.

2003 to 2005 Senior Operations Manager Warship Support Agency
• Trained as the Ministry of Defence spokesperson in the event of a nuclear weapon or nuclear material
incident with additional responsibility for acting as the MOD incident manager, coordinating all government
departments, agencies, local authorities and press during initial response phases.
• Project managed £10 million procurement contract of new convoy vehicles including all project
lifecycles, concept, assessment, demonstration, manufacture and in-service operational support.
1999 to 2003 Commanding Officer (Maritime)Special Boat Service
• Project managed the introduction, testing and acceptance of major new sub-sea capabilities including
all documentation, maintenance and trials. Developed servicing schedules and repair philosophies in order
to maximise online use while maintaining operational effectiveness.
• Served as the operations manager responsible for budget planning and administration, process
improvement, human resource management and staff development for UK Special Forces.
• Responsible for the coordination and integration of UK Special Forces during initial UK involvement in
Afghanistan providing direct liaison with all US and foreign Special Forces.
