Over Thirty years experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Currently working in Iraq on a new build project as
Operations/Commissioning Supervisor and immediately prior to that working in Vietnam for Premier Oil as part of
their improvements group in competency assessment and training for offshore operations. Previous to that I was
gas commissioning supervisor in Kazakhstan for AGIP onshore at their Eskene West facility and production
supervisor onshore in the Sahara desert in Libya at a Repsol facility flowing at 440,000 bopd maximum rate,
competency assurance on Nexen’s Scott Platform and previous training experience involved when working for
ODL writing the Operations manual for a BG new platform in the Indian Ocean, also CRO/Trainer on the West
Azeri BP platform in the Caspian Sea. Previously working as Production Supervisor, on the Kerr McGee operated
Janice FPU. Most of these roles involved training of Production Operators in key areas new to their previous
experience and PTW systems etc
Twelve years on Scott Platform working as a lead Operations Technician for Amerada Hess Ltd. Experienced in
monitoring and control of hydrocarbon, utility and power management systems from within a Central Control
Room on DCS and ABB ICSS systems and working outside in the field on process systems with first line
maintenance.
All of my duties included full and active involvement with all Safety Management Systems including Permit to
Work, Risk Assessment and Accident/Incident Investigations. Eight years as an offshore safety representative. In
addition five years floating production facility experience with ODCC.
Twelve years experience as a marine engineer working worldwide on chemical tankers.
I am a keen and dedicated individual who is fully committed to each project.
CAREER HISTORY
Production Supervisor Zubair project Iraq Jan 2015 to present
Working for Weatherford contract to ENI on the Zubair project as production supervisor / stand-in Operations
manager for a new brownfield project of 50k bpd high salinity oil processing single train with gas compression
and water injection facilities. The role includes associated commissioning work for utilities systems,
reciprocating gas compressors, power turbines, water injection facilities and control room. The role also
includes training of local labour force. (Average salt content of 30,000 ppm reduced to 20ppm for export).
Lead Competency Assessor – Vietnam August 2013 to Nov 14.
• Contracted to Premier Oil Vietnam via PPSSL and based in Vung Tau, writing PowerPoint presentations and
questions which are then converted into ELearning suites for training of offshore personnel on the Chim Sao field.
Liaising with CASys engineering support based in Subic Bay, for ensuring quality of presentation material is kept to
high standards. Ordered the PC’s for training office offshore and then setup the offshore training office. When
training modules were prepared my role changed from author to working offshore during April 2014 as Assessor /
Mentor for Marine and Utility Operations, to further develop the competencies of Vietnamese nationals and Ex-
Pat support staff. Ensuring that the product we leave is of a rigorous high standard and will ensure lasting value
for Premier Oil Vietnam.
Successfully handed over to Client in November 2014 with contract completed.
Commissioning Gas Systems Engineer – onshore Kazakhstan. Sept 2011 to June 2013.
• Contracted to AGIP via PSNK for onshore gas systems commissioning on Eskene West facility at the onshore
plant receiving station for Kashagan field in the North Caspian Sea. Also acting as Commissioning
superintendent stand in when required. All commissioning work undertaken to AGIP standards. Note that
the gas sweetening systems were Diethanolamine based.
2. Production Technician – BP Cleeton Gas Platform April 2011 to August 11.
• Contracted to BP in the North Sea, on BP Cleeton Gas Platform with full Gas Export, gas compression and all
support facilities, plus all normal utilities
• Working on a 2/3 short term contract, left for a longer term contract in Kazakhstan
Production Supervisor – Azure Group in Libya October 2009 to Feb 2011.
• Onshore Production Supervisor on the NC-115 concession, working on a 4/4 rota in the Central Sahara for
Akakus Oil the Libyan NOC normally producing 335k bbl/d.. Ensuring that all operating standards are
adhered to, overseeing the installation and commissioning of new equipment and liaising with the field
Superintendent by putting together a training package for all of the local Libyan staff. (Left Libya during the

Production Technician – Petrofac Services on Balmoral FPU June 2009 to Oct 2009.
• Offshore production technician on the floating production facility working on a 2/3 rota offshore North Sea,
short term contract – (left for long term senior position in Libya)
Production Technician - Nexen Scott Platform September 2007 to May 2009.
• Offshore production technician and Production acting Lead Technician on Scott platform for PSN. Involved
in L20 assessor work for our competency assurance
• Promoted to Lead Tech which involves chairing meetings within the Control Room.
Operations Engineer July 2007 to September 07.
• Operations Engineer for ODL Ltd in Aberdeen working as technical author on various new projects for
clients, producing operating guides and procedures etc. This role involved writing and producing the
training manuals for various clients including BG India.
CRT Coach on West Azeri Platform. March 2006 to July 2007.
• Working for Swift Services as CRT coach with ABB controlled ICSS systems on the West Azeri Platform in the
Caspian Sea, contracted to BP responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the installation. This role
involved training the local Azeri staff, on a one to one basis.

Production Supervisor. June 2004 – March 2006.
• In Charge of a team of Technicians, overseeing the permit to work system and ensuring the company safety
management systems are fully adhered to whilst maintaining a strong teamwork philosophy with all
personnel in the operations group.
• Training of the Operations staff, in isolation procedures and Permit to Work systems, also by showing
strong Safety Leadership involving each of the Ops staff in hands on training to improve local knowledge
and improve competency. This also involved writing up my own material and was adopted by Petrofac on
the other Maersk assets in the North Sea.
• Responsible to the OIM for the safe and efficient operation of the process systems on the installation.
Meeting company export targets and ESSOW standards.
• Liaise with onshore support for maintenance and planning work scopes including DSV’s. and also involved
with procurement of new equipment.
• Ensuring the competence of production team through development and on the job training.
Amerada-Hess Ltd. Scott Platform. 1993 – 2004
Lead Operations Technician
• Production/control room technician in charge of all oil/water/gas export operations and all water injection,
power management and utility operations. Also in charge of all Fire/gas and ESD systems utilizing a Honeywell
TDC 3000 control system. My main areas of focus within the CCR are maintaining high levels of efficiency and
plant uptime with awareness of environmental and economic targets.
• Trained other CCRO’s.
• Acting Production Supervisor for extended periods covering sickness etc.

• Organised team of outside production technician’s on a daily basis, writing reports and midnight daily report
• Assumed role of Lead operations technician when required, including the role of issuing authority for Permit
to Work using ESSOW, acting as on-scene commander for the Fire Team.

• Involved with reviewing our operating guides and procedures with technical authors.
• Acted as planning co-coordinator during shutdowns, planning and writing permits and risk assessments
• Control of and organize the isolation of plant, nitrogen purging of vessels and pressure / leak testing of plant

ODCC Ltd. Deep-sea Pioneer (Floating Production Facility) 1984 – 1989
• Commenced work as a Mechanical Technician then transferred to production in 1987.
• All wells were sub-sea with gas lift facilities.
• Reciprocating gas compression facilities with single oil train and dual fuel EGT TB 2500 gas Turbines for power
generation with diesel generators for back-up during shutdowns, water injection, chemicals and utilities
facilities.

• Served worldwide on Deep-sea Ocean going Chemical tankers as a marine engineer in sole charge of the
engine room.
• Main engines were diesel driven with ancillary diesels for power generation.
• Steam boilers for cargo heating and for cargo pumps.
• All maintenance work carried out on all equipment, including the above plus reciprocating and centrifugal
pumps, compressors, motors, valves and winches etc.
• Cadetship with same company involved 3 ½ years at college and 12 months seagoing experience, initially for
two years at Glasgow Nautical College and then including Birkenhead Technical College later.
