2. EMINEM – RECOVERY POSTER
• This is the poster for Eminem's
Recovery album. The picture for the
poster is the same picture for the
album cover but a few things have
been added to the picture such as
Eminem’s name above the title, the
release date in the bottom right
corner, information on the songs in
the album and some record
company logos.
3. In the poster, we see that there is
only a male walking on the road,
which suggests that this male is
the artist due to the fact that he is
the only character in the poster and
due to how he gains the majority of
the audiences attention.
The artist and album names have the same bold
font, which make them both stand out, so that the
audience will instantly know what the poster is
about. However, the two names have different
colours, to let the audience know that one is artist
and one is the album name.
Also, for the audience to know which text
is which, the album name has an aid sign
replacing the ‘O’, to reinforce the
meaning of the album name ‘Recovery’
and thus doing this will let the audience
quickly identify which text is the title and
which is the artist name. Another factor
that may help the audience identify that
this is the album name is that its font
colour is white. This is because the
colour white represents goodness and
safety, which also reinforces the meaning
of ‘Recovery’.
The rest of the writing at the bottom of
the poster is coloured white, so that it
can be clearly seen in front of the dark-
grey road. The release date however is
bold, compared to the rest of the text,
as it would draw the attention of the
audience to it, so that they are able to
know when the album will release
easily, thus leading them to likely buy it
early.
At the bottom of the poster, there is a
piece of text, under the release date,
advertising a popular single that is
included in the album (‘Not Afraid’). This
is an effective method because it further
advertises the album as well as making
the audience aware of the song, thus
making it more likely for them to buy the
album as people would like to get their
hands on the song, due to its popularity.
4. JAY-Z – KINGDOM COME
• This is the poster for Jay-Z’s album,
Kingdom Come. The same image of
Jay-Z used in this poster, is on the
Album cover. This poster consists of
the artist name and image, the
album name, a release date, a
mention of a son gin the album, a
record label, a website and a
phrase stating that Jay-Z is “The
President of Hip-Hop”

5. The slogan on the poster states that the artist is
“The President of Hip Hop”. This then suggests that
the album is of the Hip Hop genre as well as the fact
of the artist being a Hip Hop artist. This slogan is
used to draw in the audience and make them
remember it, thus allowing the poster to be more
memorable.
The image shown on the poster is a man’s face. The
fact that it is taking up the majority of the poster’s
space suggests that he is the artist of the album.
The contrast of the black and red colours between
hi face and the background makes him stand out,
which also reinforces that fact tat he is the artist.
The name of the artist has a large,
bold, white font which allows the
audience to instantly notice it; Jay-Z is
a popular artist and if audiences know
that this is his album, they would be
more likely to be drawn to it.
The album name is the second largest
font on the poster, which allows it to
easily be tied with the artists name,
and become easily noticeable for the
audience. The name “Kingdom come”
may refer to being directed to the
audience, how “Kingdom” refers to his
fans and “come” may be a way of push
advertisement, telling the audience to
“come” and buy the album.
The website is advertised to
further market the album and its
music.
The poster has a release date for the
audience to be notified when the
album will be available to purchase.
The release date is also quite
noticeable, as it is positioned near the
most eye catchy features on the poster
(the album and artist names), which
would allow the audience to easily
read the release date.
