 The working title for my documentary is ‘Does
  fashion really repeat itself?’.
 I was inspired when I was reading an article from ‘A
Fashion Institute of Technology Blog’, which is
  called ‘Fashion Repeats Itself’.
  http://blog.fitnyc.edu/precollegeprograms/2012/07/
  25/fashion-repeats-itself/
 My documentary would be about how and why
fashion has repeated itself over the years. This
would fill a gap in the market as there aren’t a lot of
fashion documentaries regarding the same topic,
also from research 100% of the people I asked said
  that they would watch it
Target Audience
 my primary target audience was between 13-19, however according to my
research 100% of the people who took part, were between the ages of 15-
17, this has formed my target audience as I now know who to target and
know that they would actually watch it. Also from looking at research it
showed that 100% of the people who took part in my questionnaire were
female, these people also said they would like to watch my documentary,
looking at this has also formed my research as I now know to target it to
  more females than males.
Mode
 From looking at research it told me that 62.5% of the
people who took part in my questionnaire said that they
would prefer the documentary to be investigative and
37.5% of the people said that it should be informative, this
decision has also been informed by secondary research
because all the documentaries that I looked at were the
  same mode, for example
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foBVdhrrOJ8&feature=
  player_embedded#
Mode of address
 The mode of my documentary is going to be informal,
I will achieve this mode by having a young 16 year old
female presenter and who would be interested in
music like Drake, Rihanna, Rita Ora, Chris Brown.
Conventions
 Archive footage- I am going to use archive footage of other documentaries that are
about fashion for example Cat Walk, also a putting in clips from 2012 London fashion
   week.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foBVdhrrOJ8&feature=player_embedded#
 Voxpops- I am going to ask a variety of people questions regarding fashion, for example
What fashion magazines they read, do they think fashion has repeated itself and What
decade of fashion do you prefer ‘60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s’, have you bought any clothes from
those decades and if yes, where from?
 Music-I am going to use music like Drake, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Beyonce, Rita Ora and
   Usher.
 Cutaways- I am going to use cutaways of London Fashion Week, Stylist Magazine, Look
Magazine, Grazia as 100% of the people who took part in my research were readers of
Look Magazine, and 80% were readers of the Stylist, and 40% were readers of Grazia, so I
will be showing more shots of Look Magazine and The Stylist.
 Expert opinion- I am going to try and organise and interview with Christopher Bailey
   (creative director of Burberry)
 Presenter- My presenter is going to be a 16 year old female as this would also appeal to
   my target audience.
Purpose
 My documentary will fill a gap in the market because
even though there are quite a few documentaries about
fashion out there, there isn’t one about fashion repeating
itself, and those other fashion documentaries are
targeted at adults and their presenters/people who do
their voice over’s are adults (above 20) and that wouldn’t
really attract teenagers, my presenter is a 16 year old
female. This would attract the correct audience as my
presenter would be easy to relate to and more appealing
  than a grown woman.
Length and distribution
 According to research, the majority of people who took
my questionnaire said that I should distribute it on
social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and
Tumblr. They also said that I should distribute it in the
cinemas before the viewing of films.
