3. my primary target audience was between 13-20,
however according to research it showed that 37.5% of
people were between the ages of 12-14, my secondary
target audience was between the ages of 26-50,
however according to my research 31.3% of the people
who took part, were between the ages of 15-17, and
31.3% were between the ages of 18-20, this has formed
my audience as I now know who to target and know
that they would actually watch it.
Also from looking at research it showed that 87.5% of
the people who took part in my questionnaire were
female, these people also said they would like to watch
my documentary, however, only 12.5% of people were
male, looking at this has also formed my research as I
now know to target it to more females than males.
4. From looking at research it told me that
37.5% of the people who took part in my
questionnaire said that they would prefer
the documentary to be investigative
and 62.5% of the people said that it
should be informative, this decision has
also been informed by secondary
research because all the documentaries
that I looked at were the same mode, for
example
5. Looking from research it showed that 68.8%
preferred the mode to be informal, that was 11 out
of the 16 people that I asked. The mode of my
documentary is going to be informal, I will achieve
this mode by having a young 16 year old female
presenter and who would be interested in music
like Drake, Rita Ora, Chris Brown, Rihanna.
6. Voxpops- I am going to ask a variety of people (both teenagers and
parents- 81.3% of people said I should interview teenagers, and 75.0%
said I should ask parents) questions regarding their opinions on the
morning after pill being given to girls as young as 13, for example ‘Do
you think girls as young as 13 should be allowed to purchase the
morning after pill without parental consent?’, ‘do you think it will
influence them into having sex?’ and ‘why do you think the morning
after pill would encourage them to have sex?’
Music-I am going to use music like Drake, Chris Brown, Rihanna,
Beyonce, Rita Ora and Usher.
Cutaways- I am going to use cutaways of clinics, articles about the
morning after pill for example ‘Contraception study says 13-year-
olds should get the pill in certain scenarios’
Expert opinion-I am going to interview a doctor from the local NHS
clinic as 93.8% of people said I should interview a doctor
Voice Over- as my target audience is from 12-14, I am going to have
a 14 year old female to do the voice over.
7. My documentary will fill a gap in the market because even
though there are quite a few documentaries about
sex, there isn’t one about young girls being able to
purchase the morning after pill, and those other
documentaries are targeted at adults and their
presenters/people who do their voice over’s are adults
(above 20) and that wouldn’t really attract teenagers, the
person who is going to be doing my voice over is a 14 year
old female. This would attract the correct audience
because presenters are more formal whereas VO’s are a
bit more laid back and relaxed, and have a VO leaves more
time for the actual topic.
8. As my documentary will only be 5
minutes I am going to distribute it on
various social networking sites, YouTube,
and at the cinema before the showing
of films. This is because these are the
most voted for ways of distribution
