2. DEFINE BUS?
In computer architecture, a bus is a
communication system that transfers data
between components inside a computer, or
between computers.
This expression covers all related hardware
components (wire, optical fiber, etc.) and
software, including communication protocols.

3. DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUSES:
There are 3 types of bus in the computer
architecture.
These are the major types of bus in the
computer. They are:
1. Data bus
2. Address bus
3. control bus
3
4. DATA BUS: THE DATA BUS ALLOWS DATA TO TRAVEL
BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE MICROPROCESSOR
(CPU) AND MEMORY (RAM).
ADDRESS BUS: THE ADDRESS BUS CARRIES
INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCATION OF DATA IN
MEMORY.
CONTROL BUS : THE CONTROL BUS CARRIES THE
CONTROL SIGNALS THAT MAKE SURE EVERYTHING
IS FLOWING SMOOTHLY FROM PLACE TO PLACE.

5. WHAT IS THE ROLE OF BUSES IN
COMPUTER SYSTEM?
The system bus connects the CPU, memory, and
the input/output devices. It carries data, address,
and control information. The speed of the system
bus is an important part of the performance of
a computer system, just like the speed of the
CPU and the size of the memory.
5
6. HOW DOES THE BUS WORK?
The bus provides a communication path for the
data and control signals moving between the
major components of the computer system. The
system bus works by combining the functions of
the three main buses: namely, the data, address
and control buses.
