What Went Well
Logistics Finance Creative Processes
Managing People
Due to both my castand crew being only
a small number of people, itwas easy to
keep track of everyone with their
scheduleand make calls sheets based
upon what days they were availableto
film.
I benefited from my castand crew to be on
time to everything as it. Money wouldn’t be
wasted of castand crew that weren’t needed
of that day of recording.
To make sure that my castand crew knew
where to be and when, I used a call sheetso
that they would know what time to showup
and the location. The schedulewas used so that
everyone knew what was goingto be shot next
and could get into position quickly.
Management of
Resources (both human
and
physical)
To manage my resources I needed to
make surewhat days my castand crew
would be availablefor recordingso that
I would book the equipment on the days
they had off.
From this, I knew exactly how many days I
needed the equipment, castand crew. This
savetime and money becauseI didn’t book
the crew, castor equipment when they were
not needed. I also checked to see how much
each of the crewmembers, castand
equipment would cost and only hired what
was necessary and within my budget.
I created a call sheetthat revolved around both
the castand crew on the days that they were
availablefor filming.I filled outmultiple
booking forms for the equipment on the days
that they areneeded.
Managing Time
SinceI’m only creatinga shortfilm,I
wouldn’t need a lot of time during
production however; I would need to
make surethat the time was managed
wisely so that I wouldn’t waste any of
the castand crew’s time.
Not a lotof time was wasted during
production so everything was wrapped up
quickly and money wasn’t wasted for
overtime.
To make sure that the time was managed well,I
created a scheduleon what would be recorded
on each day of filmand estimated on how long
each shotwould take so that I would be ableto
figure out how many hours itwould take.
Being Professional
Being professional required me to keep
track of both the castand the crew’s
scheduleso that I would fill outboth the
call sheets and bookingforms. I didn’t
run into a lotof problem sinceboth the
castand crew were always focused with
littleguidanceneeded as the crew was
already ableto work the equipment and
the castwould quickly understand what
they would need to do and how to act it
I saved time, manage people properly and
they would be paid for actually doing
something is stead of standingdoingnothing
and still getting paid. SinceI was organised
everything well,the castand crew knew
where to be and when with littleto no
confusion.
I made sure that all of pre-production was
finished so that when itcame to the
production,I could directpeople on what to do
next. The schedule was so that I need what
shot need to be set up next.

out in each shot.
Ensuring Progress is
Sustained
I manage to keep a sustainableprogress
throughout the project. I kept track of
everyone’s scheduleand was ableto
book equipment for the rightamount of
time.
With keeping the progress sustained meant
that no time was wasted on latecrew or cast
members which saveus from working
overtime and havingto still pay someonewas
juststandingthere.
I used a scheduleto keep track during
production on how long each shotwould take
and if any shots would need to be reshoot.
Managing Risk
I had to decrease the possibilitiesof the
equipment, castor crew wouldn’t be
damaged or injured duringproduction.If
anythingbad was to happen during
production,I knew that would be my
faultand would face the consequences
of broken equipment and needed to find
more castor crewmembers.
No one was injured and no equipment was
broken duringproduction so that meant that
not extra money would need to be spent on
getting more crew or castmembers or
booking out more equipment to replace
anythingbroken.
To look at all of the possiblerisksbeforethe
production starts,I used a risk assessment.This
is so that I could look at all of the possiblerisks
that have been listed and figureout if it would
apply to my production. If itdid,I would know
before hand on how to find a solution before
production starts.
Managing Crisis
There wasn’t a lotof crisisthat
happened duringproduction because
the equipment needed was booked out
and working and both the castand crew
arrived to the set of time.
If something bad as if the cast or crew arrived
late, the filmingwouldn’t be ableto startuntil
a late time and could resultin working
overtime. For any castand crewmembers that
did show up on time would still bepaid for
arrivingon time.
I made sure to keep on top of the schedule for
when I needed the cast, crew and equipment
and made to ask as soon as possibleon what
days they are ableto filmand to make sureto
tell me if I would need to reschedule.
Keeping Documentation
up-to-date and relevant
I needed to keep up-to-date with what I
had completed and what needed to be
finish. To do this, I wrote everything
down in shortparagraph so thatI could
quickly find out on what was done and
what needed to be done.
This benefited me as itdidn’t was a lot of
time going back on things that I thought were
not completed but was. I would have
confused the castand crew with them having
to work extra for something they need to.
I created a production diary,which included
things that I have achieved over the week from
pre-production to post-production.It included
things such as when I completed tasks such as
the script,storyboard,call sheets and etc.

Summary of any problems
I faced problems duringproducts, as
I started filmingduringthe day
This did waste time and the shotneeded
to be done multipletimes due to the shot
I could have kept better track on what time
the sunset started so that if I needed to

production. It resulted in my crew not
doinganything for a shortperiod of time
but still getting paid for being there.
More money would be needed to pay to

record at nightor duringthe sunset I
would know a head of time on when the
cast, crew and equipment would need to
arrive.
I could have do test run with the camera to
see how a complex shot would work out in
the set I have, justto make sure that not a
lot of simpleerrors such as the camera
being too lowwould causethe shot to be
needed to be retaken.
Ways you could be better
in future productions
I could keep track of the times
when sunset started to that I
could startrecordingshortafter
if I needed to do any shots at
specific times.
This would mean that I wouldn’t
need to do an extra day of recording,
which would require to pay for the
cast,crew and equipment for an
extra day or two, resultingin me
going over my budget.
Duringthe preproduction stage, a list
could be made to keep track of when
sunset will starton each day so that I
would know at what time I needed
both the crew and castto be there
before hand for the set up so that
when it came to actually filming, the
time of day would be correctin what I
had planned.
