2. New MediaTechnologies
Over the year, I have used many a new exciting
technologies in order to produce high quality work. In this
slide share I will go through all the technologies that I have
used and why they were specifically used, whether the
technology is used for planning, research or evaluation
questions.
3. Technologies
HDV Camera,Tripod, Imac, Final Cut
Express, Blogger,YouTube, Adobe
Photoshop, PicMonkey, Microsoft
Word, Microsoft
PowerPoint, Slideshare, Prezi, I
phone, Survey Monkey ,Wordle
, Glogstar, Adobe After Effect
4. HDV Camera
In the music video we used a HDV Camera to film, this was the
most important source during the whole process of our music
video as it held all our footage on the camera. The camera also
helped us use different types of shots; this included shot reverse
shot, medium shot and P.O.V shots. The camera itself was very
simple and easy to use, after filming for a few days we didn’t have
much problem with the camera. By using this camera I felt that it
gave us the best possible outcome.
5. Tripod
Another piece of equipment that we used was the tri-pod
and the camera attached to the tri-pod for a steady
focus, when filming. The tri-pod gave us the ability to
show a pan and tilt shot and it gave us easy move ability.
The tripod we used was very standard and everybody was
given the same tripod, but this equipment was most
helpful as it gave us the steady footage we needed.
6. IMac
The Imac is the main source of all our work research, digipak content and
other constructive work that was needed. On the Mac we safari which is
the internet to recover all the information that has been needed for this
years course. I used it to gain information about the typical R’n’B music
and what sort of mise-en-scene we might need for our music video.
The I Mac was used in the planning and producing stages of our project, as
the programmes like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint was needed to help
type up my evaluation work.
Overall the Imac was a useful piece of equipment in my project as it gave
me the valuable to succeed in parts of the criteria.
7. Final Cut Express
Final cut express is a good bit of equipment as this is how I edited the
Music video and without this I wouldn’t be able to produce the video.
Final cut has many essential tools to allow me edit the music video, for
example the over-lay toggle clip button as this helped me adjust the
opacity and the cuts between each clip.
I feel without Final cut express I wouldn’t be able to make the music
video and other clips that we made like the vox pox for our research.
8. Blogger
Throughout Blogger has helped me produce uploaded
work that is vital for my evaluation, I have used it so the
examiners can see my pieces of work, On my blog there
will be all my pieces of work like my video, digipak and
magazine advert.
9. Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop was used to make the digipak, album
cover and the magazine advert. It was very useful as it had
many difficult techniques that was needed to provide such
a good outcome. Photoshop allowed us to cropped the
images and give a better lighting effect on the images.
Here is the album cover and as you can see we have edited
it to look black and white we also gave it a different
texture to make it more appealing.
10. PicMonkey
PicMonkey can be used online were you can edit images
and give them a different format. PicMonkey was an
alternative to Photoshop as we were having many
difficulties with Photoshop and editing the correct way we
wanted to.Therefore we didn’t want to waste time so we
used an easier way to edit our images.
PicMonkey is very effective and gives a good outcome.
The magazine advert was edited in PicMonkey then the
extras in Photoshop.
11. MicrosoftWord
MicrosoftWord was mainly used to created long documents
in relation of the planning and the build up of the music
video. The program enabled me to produce documents
connecting to the particular location we went to and the
many costumes we used throughout the music video.
When I finished creating these documents I uploaded
them up on to blogspot were people can see were the
planning was produced for our music video.
12. Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint was another form of displaying my
work, the work that I have created in PowerPoint has gave
me other options of using technology. I used PowerPoint
for my evaluation question and uploaded it on to my blog.
PowerPoint is a useful way were you can upload it into
Slideshare were it creates a different way in presenting
PowerPoint's.
13. Slideshare
Slideshare is the form were you can upload the
PowerPoint document on to Blogger and it can give a
better effect in which PowerPoint does, it makes it less
boring to look at. Slideshare is very easy to use and less
complicated than PowerPoint.
Slideshare gave me the ability to produce a piece of
presentation work in a different way.
14. Prezi
Prezi is an interesting way to create more fun
presentations. It give you the ability to make
presentations without the boring part to look at. Prezi is
very easy to use, it also gives you a different way to make
presentation instead of using PowerPoint it gives you
other ideas.
I used Prezi for my evaluation question and it was very
useful to me, I found this helpful and interesting compare
to other programs.
15. I Phone
I Phones are very useful and technology is developing very
fast.WE used an I phone for parts of the project weather
to take pictures or film parts of the music video. We used
the I phone for maps and different locations they we need
to find for our filming location. The pictures that we used
for our digipak, album cover and magazine advert were all
used on the I phone.
16. Glogster
Glogster was used to create a mood board for the music
video it gave us initial idea about the artist and the genre
of the music. Glogstar displays pieces of work very well
and it gave us different ways to present our work.
17. Wordle
Wordle is a great way to present pieces of
work,Wordle is a software which allows
you to create an image with different words
put together,TheWordle was created to
display our audience research. This gave us
an insight as to what the audience will be
looking for in our music video.
As you can the bigger the word the more
favorable it is.
18. Survey Monkey
We used survey monkey to gain audience feedback and
this helped us to created different costumes for our
characters in our music video. On survey monkey we had
to create different questions that people could answer for
example what's your favorite genre of music?
This helped us be more aware of what we should include
in our music and what to include in to the footage.
