Project proposal title and date:
The lost pilot 14/1/21
Main area of activity:
Print/ website
Rationale:
In the past 2 years I have learnt how to format my pre-production work, from pre-proposals to my
experiments and how to format my ideas and put them onto documents, I have also learnt how to
professionally produce and evaluate my projects. I have learnt how to format my pre-production
work from past projects such as my factual topic, as lots of research and planning was needed to
produce a mini documentary. During that project I also learnt how to edit footage and audio
together and add effects and use premier pro. In past projects I have also learnt how to evaluate
my work to the best standard and evaluate every aspect of my work from pre-production to my
final production.
As I am planning on making a website with animation imbedded in it, one past project that will help
me with my current project is the animation project as I learnt how to create smooth flowing
animations on photoshop.
Project Concept:
I am planning to make a website with a animated banner and a short video or something similar for
one of the pages, I want to make it themed around my great uncle who was a RAF pilot in ww2
and was unfortunately lost in action, when flying back from a mission. for the video I am wanting to
use interviews of my family and still pictures of him and his squadron with the script talking about
my great uncle before, during and then his legacy. For the print portion of my project I want to use
still pictures of my great uncle with promotional text about the film i am wanting to create.
For the research I will be using the research my grandad has done whilst researching my family’s
history, I will also need to use the internet and research the plane that was being flown, similar
incidents. The history/ current events of the squadron he was in (118), with what is available to the
public and what my grandad has managed to get a hold of, and as I am a blood relative I can also
request information from the MOD archives, witch if not classified should have his Commanding
officers report of the incident.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will review and evaluate my work by documenting and reviewing my work on the daily after each
day of production, I will evaluate the good and bad parts of my progress that day. I will also
evaluate all my pre-production and production I will evaluate the quality and quantity of my written
work, during production and once my project is completed I will use peer analysis and review to
help me evaluate my work and if I have enough time I will work on improvements if any are pointed
out too me by my peers.
There are many websites on similar subjects (ww2) which I will compare my own against in terms
of quality and design, as I am also wanting to create a video for my project I will compare that to
