Daniel Firth conducted three experiments adding various visual effects to video footage to make it more unique and odd. Some effects he liked were the mirror effect, grid/checkerboard effects, circle effect, and emboss effect which he may incorporate into his documentary project. Other effects he tried such as in Experiment 2 did not suit his documentary. Effects he intends to use from Experiment 3 include wave warm, find edges, and roughen edges which gives an old film look.

2. Experiment 1
• In my first experiment I used the footage I recorded around college
and added random effects to them to make it as odd and unique as
possible.
• there are some aspects of my work I like as some effects I have added
to the footage such as the mirror effect as it creates depth to the
footage and can be used in many different ways.
• There are also some aspects of my work I don’t like as they look
unprofessional and don’t really look appealing.

3. Experiment 1
• Another effect that is in my first experiment I will probably use in my
project will be the grid or checkerboard effects as I can use it to add
transitions between shots or have it to add a window or similar style.

4. Experiment 2
• For my second experiment I followed a tutorial for the most part and
then added my own interpretations of the effects, there are a few
techniques I struggled with or didn’t use for this particular
experiment.
• There are many effects in this that I doubt I will be using in my final
project as I don’t believe they would suit my documentary.

5. Experiment 2
• One effect that is in my experiment 2 I will probably use in my project
will be ’circle’ I will use this to add depth and highlight areas in my
work, another affect from this experiments I will use is emboss as it
allows me to add colors' around the edges of my projects which I can
use to add character.

6. Experiment 3
• In this experiment I used both things I liked from my previous two
experiments, I really like the effects I used in the first part of my
experiment together, which were wave warm and find edges.

7. Experiment 3
• Another effect I like on my 3rd experiment is roughen edges, as it adds
a burned effect to the edges of the image making it like like old film .
