Pathway Visual
Project Title Passing Time
Section 1: Rationale (approx. 150 words)
The expertise of camera, studio and editing work that I have developed at the Global
Academy has pushed me to strive in the career pathway of a young film director/ producer.
I will construct an experimental film as it allows me to exhibit my talented writing skills that I
have acquired within my A Level English studies. The ideologies that I will focus to
challenge in my original poetry and the role that I will have as an editor and director will
highlight the professional skills that I have established thus far in my career. Director Alex
Garland has inspired me as his recent thriving artistic films have challenged social
normality and so I will utilise some of his techniques in order to ensure my projects
success.
Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am producing a visual poem in the form of an abstract experimental film. This product will
screen as part of a competition within a film festival. The focus of the film will be the theme
of time and the schedules that people put in place rather than actually enjoying and living
life to their fullest. It will be appealing for young audiences to watch and view their lives in a
different perspective. The location for the screening will be the London Experimental Film
Festival, this is because they are known for honouring experimental films and educating the
public which is what I aspire to do. I am aware that each festival has criteria that the
production has to meet in order to qualify for the screening, so I will certify that the criteria
will be met. I will also observe previous winners in order to understand the quality that my
film has to be. Furthermore, I will focus on gathering information specifically surrounding
the work of other directors and editors and what makes their work a success. I understand
that research will be detailed and well defined on artistic approaches as well as enhanced
cinematography. The directing and editing roles I will perform involve constructing the script
and all pre-production documentation, which will allow my knowledge to strengthen,
through what I have initially developed in my studies.
Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 150 words)
I will be evaluating my work by logging my process and analysing reasons why I will take
certain actions within my project and utilise the research that I will conduct as evidence. I
will receive feedback weekly from members of staff and create a blog on my website in
order to remember what I have accomplished by the end of the week and what I could do
to improve. I will then adjust these changes in my own time and certify that I have a plan for
what I will finalise in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore, I will record my decision-making
process in notes and through images and videos of my schedule. Overall, I will seek to
stimulate my strengths as a young media creator.

Proposal template

  • 1. Creative Media Production & Technology Unit 13 Project Proposal Candidate Name Sara Cakoni Candidate Number 2664 Pathway Visual Project Title Passing Time Section 1: Rationale (approx. 150 words) The expertise of camera, studio and editing work that I have developed at the Global Academy has pushed me to strive in the career pathway of a young film director/ producer. I will construct an experimental film as it allows me to exhibit my talented writing skills that I have acquired within my A Level English studies. The ideologies that I will focus to challenge in my original poetry and the role that I will have as an editor and director will highlight the professional skills that I have established thus far in my career. Director Alex Garland has inspired me as his recent thriving artistic films have challenged social normality and so I will utilise some of his techniques in order to ensure my projects success. Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words) I am producing a visual poem in the form of an abstract experimental film. This product will screen as part of a competition within a film festival. The focus of the film will be the theme of time and the schedules that people put in place rather than actually enjoying and living life to their fullest. It will be appealing for young audiences to watch and view their lives in a different perspective. The location for the screening will be the London Experimental Film Festival, this is because they are known for honouring experimental films and educating the public which is what I aspire to do. I am aware that each festival has criteria that the production has to meet in order to qualify for the screening, so I will certify that the criteria will be met. I will also observe previous winners in order to understand the quality that my film has to be. Furthermore, I will focus on gathering information specifically surrounding the work of other directors and editors and what makes their work a success. I understand that research will be detailed and well defined on artistic approaches as well as enhanced cinematography. The directing and editing roles I will perform involve constructing the script and all pre-production documentation, which will allow my knowledge to strengthen, through what I have initially developed in my studies. Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 150 words)
  • 2. I will be evaluating my work by logging my process and analysing reasons why I will take certain actions within my project and utilise the research that I will conduct as evidence. I will receive feedback weekly from members of staff and create a blog on my website in order to remember what I have accomplished by the end of the week and what I could do to improve. I will then adjust these changes in my own time and certify that I have a plan for what I will finalise in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore, I will record my decision-making process in notes and through images and videos of my schedule. Overall, I will seek to stimulate my strengths as a young media creator.
