We use “will” when ...
• We express a voluntary action like
offering our help.
I will send you the information when I get it.
I will translate the email, so Mr. Smith can read
it.
Will you help me move this heavy table?
• We express a promise.
I promise I will not tell him about the surprise
party.
Don't worry, I'll be careful.
I won't tell anyone your secret.
• We make a prediction.
The year 2222 will be a very interesting
year.
John Smith will be the next President.
Don't forget...
Affirmative sentence.
person + will + infinitive + complement

I will help you with those

Negative sentence.

She won't be here next week.
Interrogative questions.

2. Be going to.
We use “be going to” when...
•We express a plan.
He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii.
She is not going to spend her vacation in Hawaii.
A: When are we going to meet each other tonight?
B: We are going to meet at 6 PM.
•We express a prediction.
The year 2222 is going to be a very interesting
year.
John Smith is going to be the next President.
The movie "Zenith" is going to win several
Academy Awards.

Negative sentence:

3. Present continuous.
Sometimes, speakers use the Present
Continuous to indicate that something will or
will not happen in the near future. We use it for
future arrangements.
Examples:
* I am meeting some friends after work.
* I am not going to the party tonight.
Don't forget...
Affirmative sentence:
person + be + verbing + complement
He is practicing volleyball tonight.
Negative sentence:
person + be not + verbing + complement
They aren't going there with you.
Interrogative sentences:
(Wh-question)+be+person+verbing+complement?
Is she playing this night?
Yes, she is. No, she isn't.
What are we doing at night?
We are cooking English food. (Affirmative sentence)
4. PRESENT SIMPLE
We use present simple with Scheduled
Events in the Near Future.
Examples:
* The train leaves tonight at 6 PM.
* The bus does not arrive at 11 AM, it arrives
at 11 PM.
* When do we board the plane?

The students start classes in March

He goes there at 16:00.
It eats at night.
Negative sentence:

Future will, be going to, present continuous and present simple with the idea of future

  • 1. ““DANCE AND MUSIC”DANCE AND MUSIC” for 10th grade. FUTURE WILL, BE GOING TO, PRESENT CONTINUOUS AND PRESENT SIMPLE WITH THE IDEA OF FUTUTE.
  • 2. 1. Future will. We use “will” when ... • We express a voluntary action like offering our help. I will send you the information when I get it. I will translate the email, so Mr. Smith can read it. Will you help me move this heavy table?
  • 3. • We express a promise. I promise I will not tell him about the surprise party. Don't worry, I'll be careful. I won't tell anyone your secret.
  • 4. • We make a prediction. The year 2222 will be a very interesting year. John Smith will be the next President.
  • 5. Don't forget... Affirmative sentence. person + will + infinitive + complement verb I will help you with those cages.
  • 6. Negative sentence. person + won't + infinitive + complement verb She won't be here next week.
  • 7. Interrogative questions. (wh- question)+will+person+infinitive+complement? verb Will you keep a secret? Yes, I will. No, I won't. When will he travel to Rome? He will travel next Summer. (Affirmative sentence)
  • 8. 2. Be going to. We use “be going to” when... •We express a plan. He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii. She is not going to spend her vacation in Hawaii. A: When are we going to meet each other tonight? B: We are going to meet at 6 PM.
  • 9. •We express a prediction. The year 2222 is going to be a very interesting year. John Smith is going to be the next President. The movie "Zenith" is going to win several Academy Awards.
  • 10. Don't forget... Affirmative sentence: person + be going to+ infinitive + complement verb I am going to visit you next Sunday. Negative sentence: person + be not going to + infinitive + complement verb They aren't going to eat in that pub.
  • 11. Interrogative sentences: (Wh-question)+Be+person+going to+infinitive+complement? verb Is she going to go to the movies? Yes, she is. No ,she isn't. What are you going to do at night? I am going to dance to Soho disco. (Affirmative sentence)
  • 12. 3. Present continuous. Sometimes, speakers use the Present Continuous to indicate that something will or will not happen in the near future. We use it for future arrangements. Examples: * I am meeting some friends after work. * I am not going to the party tonight.
  • 13. Don't forget... Affirmative sentence: person + be + verbing + complement He is practicing volleyball tonight. Negative sentence: person + be not + verbing + complement They aren't going there with you.

  • 15. 4. PRESENT SIMPLE We use present simple with Scheduled Events in the Near Future. Examples: * The train leaves tonight at 6 PM. * The bus does not arrive at 11 AM, it arrives at 11 PM. * When do we board the plane?
  • 16. Don't forget... Affirmative sentence: I / We / You /They + infinitive + complement verb The students start classes in March He / She / It + verb(s/es/ies) + complement She flies to London at 11:00. He goes there at 16:00. It eats at night.
