My ideal city or town
Lesson Plan 6
Time: 45 minutes
Topic: Ideal City
Objectives:
- To recall vocabulary related to places in a city.
- To describe cities using different adjectives.
- To answer questions using “Yes, there is/are.//No, there isn’t/aren’t.”
- To use adjectives to describe students’ own city.
Materials needed for the lesson
- Student’s book Hop into English 5.
- Visual support and materials designed by the teacher-students.
Routine
Timing: 5 minutes.
Type of interaction: all the class, teacher-students.
Makro skills: listening and speaking.
We will follow the routine ‘’How do you feel today?’’ and continue with a
breathing exercise before starting the lesson to help students prepare to get to work
after their recess.
Warm-up
Timing: 10 minutes.
Type of interaction: all together.

1. Go to page 39 in your student’s book and read the sentences next to the images.
Are there any words from the ones we saw in the previous activity? We will read
the sentences altogether and then we proceed with the listening.
Second activity
Timing: 5 minutes.
Type of interaction: individual, all the class.
Makro skills: reading and speaking.
2. Solve the second activity. Read again and write a, b or c on the boxes below.
4. There is a big airport and a modern stadium.
5. There are lots of castles.
6. There is a park and small shops.
Close-up
Timing: 4 minutes.

Makro skills: listening.
3. Say which city or town do you like best: a, b or c?
Homework:
- Activities 1 and 2, page 40.
- Bring materials such as colours, markers, pieces of paper, sheets of paper,
anything to can think useful to do a project, next class.
