3. Elements of Art:
Line – path left by a pencil or a brush dipped in paint. All different
directions. Used to show contours, feelings or expressions and movement.
Shape – area enclosed by a line, can be outline or shaded in. shapes can e
geometric (circle/square/triangle) or irregular. Consider the size and
position. Negative space = shapes created in spaces between shapes.
Form – three dimensional shape (cube/sphere/cone).
Texture – surface quality (feels/looks like it feels) two types = actual and
visual texture. Actual really exists (actually feel it/touch it). Visual is created
using marks to represent actual texture.
Colour – primary colours = red, yellow, blue. Secondary colours = two
primary colours mixed together. Tertiary colours = mixing primary colour
with secondary colour next to it on the colour wheel.
Value – refers to the use of lightness and darkness.
Space – area that has a purpose. Background/foreground/middle ground.
Distances or areas’ around, between and within things. Negative space and
positive space.

5. Composition within your intro:
When thinking about your own intro it is
important to consider where your titles will be
when filming rather then trying to fit them in
when editing as this will end in a poor result.
