Line, color, value, shape, form, space, and texture are the basic elements of art. Line is a mark with length and direction, color consists of hue, intensity, and value, and value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color. Shape is a 2D enclosed area while form is a 3D object or shape. Space can be positive, filled areas or negative, empty areas, and texture is the surface quality or feel of an object.
