 The Ancient World began in Spain about 3000
years ago when the Iberians who inhabited
the Peninsula invented their own way of
writing.
1-SPAIN IN THE ANCIENT WORLD.
Inhabited the East and
South of the Peninsula.
They were farmers and
practised commerce.
Sculpture was very
important for them.
They came from the
central and North Europe
at 9th century BC, and
settled in the North and
centre of the Peninsula.
They were farmers and
worked with iron.

B) Traders of the Mediterranean.
 At the end of the 8th century BC other
people arrived from the East of the
Mediterranean. They traded in metals,
fabric, iron objects and perfumes .

From Phoenicia,
arrived first and
settled on the
southern costs.
The Greeks arrived
in the 6th century
BC and formed
colonies on the
eastern coast.

The Visigoths were
Germanic people that
settled in Hispania in the
5th century. In the 6th
century they founded a
kingdom with capital in
Toledo.

Under the Visigoths it was rural..

.They conquered almost all the
territory and called it Al-Ándalus.

Cordoba was a big city with

kingdoms
that conquered gradually,and
expanded the territories of Al-
Ándalus. The Caliphate of
