1. The first thing I learnt from my preliminary task was how difficult it
will be to use technology to create my magazine. I first attempted to
us Photoshop but found it very complex and difficult to get my way
around it. I also then when onto something felt more comfortable
using which was pic monkey. By trying it out with my preliminary
task, I was able to my music magazine faster and more effective. I
was also able to learn the tricks and methods of making a good
magazine.
2. Like my preliminary task, I used a colour theme as I found that worked for my preliminary task. However I whish I
used a more subtle blue from my school magazine and made sure I was very careful with the colours I used and
whether or not it matched the genre I was going for. I also had a hard time getting text to be seen with a black and
white background and therefore I made sure I used a clear photo for my music magazine so that text would be seen.
As well as this I learnt that the puffs did not necessarily have to be to big and perhaps there was to much information
and text on the cover which took away from the main image
I feel that I have improved from my preliminary task to my main product. For my preliminary
task, I felt that the colour of my Masthead was too bright and the font did not really stand out
and perhaps ruined the layout of the magazine. Because I mad sure that I analysed lots of mast
heads of music magazine and created mood bored of fonts to ensure that I pick an appropriate
mast head
In terms of the image, I ensured that for my music magazine I took a picture of my model on a blank white
background. I did this because I had problems with getting text to go with the image on my preliminary task. I also
insured that when I took the photo of my model, I allowed for space over the head for the Masthead. With my
preliminary task I took the image with my phone where as for my music magazine I used a camera to gain better
quality photos
3. I have come a long way in terms of my content page. I really enjoyed making the content
page for my preliminary task. However, looking back on it, the colours I used where too
dark and did not go with the blue colour I had chosen. Now I wish I had used a white
font instead. Because of my preliminary content, I decided to choose lighter colour
without straying away from colour that represent my genre. As well as this, I decided to
be more realistic about page numbers. On my preliminary task it went up to page 27
however, in my music magazine it goes up to 77. for my music magazine I chose not to
have multiple images and stuck to one as it conformed to the conventions of R&B Music
magazine which usually uses just one image of an artist. Unlike my school
