4. Comparison of front covers: I have improved a lot from my preliminary task cover to my final product cover I have learnt how to use Photoshop being able to use tools such a magnetic lasso, magic wand. From my preliminary task it is clearly shown that I did not how to use the tools as there is a white outline near the hair of the model and then looking at the final product the model seems to have no such lines. There is a lot of empty space on my preliminary task whereas on my final product it is very filled and plenty of sell lines. Here I did not use a typical feature of a front cover as I only had discovered this during my research and planning. I was able to use gradient tool on both my final and preliminary covers, I also used a lot of colours on my preliminary task which is not a typical convention of a music magazine as it confuses the readers, I also improved in this matter as I have used a limited amount of colours knowing it would attract more readers. My mast head is much more bolder and has effects done to it such as outer glow but my preliminary task has not got this sort of techniques or skills used as I did not how to use them. I also have used a barcode in my final product and have not used one in preliminary task, yet I used issue number and the date in both covers.
5. Comparisons of contents pages : Throughout my planning and research I had discovered many conventions for a contents page, such as editorial which I had used in my final piece, but not in my preliminary task. I also never put an image of the front cover which is also a typical convention of a music magazine. In my preliminary contents page I have used a variety of colours which is not a typical convention of a typical hip hop magazine, but as shown from my final product I have used a limited amount of colours as it is more useful for readers. In my contents page I used a few images, with page numbers on them but my preliminary task I never used a page number for the image. I also improved my Photoshop skills as I was able to do borders around my final image edit them the right way with out any lines showing that they have not being edited properly. There has been a big improvement overall from my preliminary task to my final product I have through the process improved my Photoshop skills as well as more aware of typical convention which are needed for a contents page. I have edited the images well, leaving no green spots as I had used a green backdrop, I have also followed typical music magazine conventions as I had not done in the contents page.
