Working as a Production Manager in EPRU and OSBL Plant. It is a natural gas
liquefaction and separation unit, licensed by KTI Technology.
The unit consists of gas sweetening unit (GSU), Dehydration section (for moisture removal) &
cryogenic section C2H6, C3H8, and C4H10 recovery as major sections. Unit recovers Ethane
Propane and butane from Semi Rich gas to provide feed stock to Gas Cracker Unit. This unit dealt
with condensation, throttling, compression, absorption, scrubbing, filtration, Refrigeration,
Amine recovery (Gas sweetening) and distillation.
I am responsible to bring optimal facilities performance and highest operational efficiency
by ensuring technical integrity, and highest standard of occupational safety, health and
environment, implementing improvement plans through management of change (MOC),
optimizations, and other changes, as necessary.

Work Experience
 Working as operation lead for cryogenic Shale Ethane tank project.
 Worked as shift supervisor for five years.
 Good operating experience of Steam Turbines / Centrifugal Compressors / Reciprocating
compressors / Expander-Compressor / Multi stage centrifugal pumps / Distillation Columns
/ Heat Exchangers / Refrigeration Unit. / Dehydrators / Amine Sweetening unit, Cryogenic
storage tanks, Vaporizers and Cross country pipeline.
 Having good operational experience of DCS Yokogawa (Centum CS and VP). Hands on
experience of Tata Honeywell (US system).
 Monitoring of Cryogenic Storage area that is having 2 Double wall Storage Tanks
(DWST) of capacity of 12000 MT of Ethylene, 2000 MT of C2C3 Spheres, and 125 MT
of Propylene.
 Working as operation team leader for commissioning of 90000 MT Ethane tank project.
 Working as a project leader for commissioning of HPRT (high pressure recovery turbine)
and carries out conceptual and process engineering design work for project related to
modifications, improvements, debottlenecking as per international code and practices.
 Participant/member of Hazop study of HPRT installation and USM metering and regulating
skid installation.
 Participating in RCA (Root cause analysis) of any process failure and deviation which is
impacting on safety, reliability and efficiency of the plant. Awarded for best RCA
analysis.
 Core team member of Incident investigation (Process as well as non process incident).

 Carries out technical reviews of start-up procedures/shutdown planning and related
operating guidelines.

 Responsible for implementation of various energy saving schemes/suggestion and
monitoring of energy consumption pattern as "plant Energy Co-ordinator".
Following Energy saving schemes implemented through management of change:
 Energy recovery from vent condenser through surface condensate 1.2 cr/annum.
 Energy recovery through HPRT at the down stream of amine contactor.
 P-110 A/B logic modification to reduce runtime (Saving 1.5 lacs/annum).
 Condensate diversion to CWS during plant disturbance (Saving 4 lacs/disturbance).
 Increase in adsorption time of dehydrators during low plant load (8 lacs/annum)
 Seal gas of expander diverted to fuel gas header (3 lacs/annum)
 LP steam common header line up to maximize HP steam export (45 lacs/annum).
 Pyrogel insulation application in VHP steam header to increase turbine efficiency by
1%. (Savings 2.2 cr/annum)
 Hydraulic turbine commissioning at the down stream of amine absorber to recover
400KW of let down energy (Saving 3.0 cr/annum).
 Reviews "day to day" operation of C2C3 recovery plant operation with respect to plant
KPIs.
 Process data sheet preparation of various equipments e.g C.V., PSVs, exchangers, pumps,
vessels etc.
 Making Energy balance & Material Balance.
 P&ID review and modification as per MOCs.
 Review of daily, weekly and monthly production, raw material and utility variance through
daily rake up, PPRM and MPRM.
 To implement minor/major MOCs (Management of change), including PFD and P&ID
modification, Hazop and WHY-WHY analysis.
 To plan shutdown / major planned jobs, preparation of activity bar chart and plan to comply
the statutory requirements.
 Coordinating with GAIL / ONGC-Hazira as well as Gandhar for supply & quality of semi
rich gas and lean gas (Quantity= 9.5 mmscmd).
 Operation and monitoring of HP and LP flare.
 Task force member of PSM (Process safety Management) and PSSR (Pre start up
safety review).
Project Experience
 Detail engineering of HPRT (High pressure recovery turbine), P&ID, PFD, HAZOP ,
coordination with other support engineering deptt. Commissioning etc.
 Represented Reliance Industries Ltd in International Conference "Gas Treatment
Experience Exchange Programme", organised by BASF Germany, in Bangkok
Thailand.
 HP Ethylene & MP Ethylene vaporizer (capacity expansion and Change in heating media to
methanol, close loop).
 BOG (Boil Off Ethylene Gas) Compressor (Capacity expansion and extra chilling facility for
Ethylene Rundown from Gas Cracker).
 Gas-Gas Exchanger in EPRU to recover heat energy from heated gas from Dehydrator (HP
steam saving 12 T/day, Rs 36 lacs per annum) .
 Logic change of surface condensate pump (P-4001A &B), to avoid unnecessary trip of
plant.
 Three Lean-Rich amine heat exchanger in line (HP steam saving 6 T/hr, Rs 4.32 crore per
annum).
 P-106A/B minimum circulation line provision to control low transfer rate of ethylene.
 Control valve provision at the upstream of K-101A/B (Propylene compressor) suction drum
to avoid any flaring (Saving Rs 5.8 Lacs per annum).
 Ethylene supply to EVA plant at 55 kg/cm2 from Baroda line.
 Hot tapping in HP flare header for EVA flare line connection.
During commissioning I was responsible for
 Process checks as per isometrics.
 Carrying out required tests (pressure tests, hydro test) for vessels and piping.
 Final inspection for clearance of vessels for box up.
 Commissioning of VHP, HP steam lines as per specific requirements of steam turbines.
 Preparation of system for charging utilities & gas.
 Control loop, interlock & logic checking in coordination with instrument team.
 Graphics checking and modification on DCS as a part of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
 Carrying out activities as per job schedule bar charts for timely completion of job.
EXPOSURE IN QUALITY AND MANUFACTURING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
: Exposure in manufacturing techniques like IMS, Quality Circle,TPM, Six Sigma, TQM, 5S,
Kaizen, PSM.
