lead and that is how men are
stereotyped to be in control of the
woman.
3. In this 180 degree shot, it shows the man and the woman sitting next to
each other in the taxi. This shot neither conforms or subverts the
stereotype of gender this is because they are both at the same height, this
show they are both equal and none of the have all the power. This tells us
that men and women in some situation are equal and in other situation
they aren’t.
4. In this close up shot, where she is
holding his hand, it shows that she
subverts the stereotype of gender
because she has taken control and
taken hold of his hand first. This
subverts the stereotype because
normally it would be the man who
grabs the woman’s hand first.
5. In this scene it shows that the woman is
wearing a dress this conforms the typical
stereotype of woman as she is wearing a dress
and heels and is wearing a pink colour. This
conforms the stereotype of women because
this is what women are supposed to wear.
It also shows the man wearing a suit, this
conforms the stereotype of a man because that
is what men are supposed to wear. He is also
wearing black which is the colour they are
stereotyped to wear.
6. In this clip, sound subverts the stereotype
of gender because the woman tells the
man to ‘stay here’ this subverts the
stereotype because it shows that the
woman has all the power and can tell the
man what to do.
7. In this scene the editing shows how
gender is stereotyped. The slow
transitions of different angles of her
face shows how she conforms the
stereotype of women being weak.
8. In this shot it shows the background that has
a stall of flowers this starts to conform the
stereotype of women as they usually like
flowers and have them around their home. It
also conforms the stereotype because she is
acting as the damsel in distress which is one
of the main stereotypes of women.
9. In this shot it shows him running across
the road but it is edited in slow motion so
it creates more tension. This conforms the
stereotype of men because they would
usually run to the rescue and help the
woman rather than the woman help them.
10. This close up camera shot shows him over
the top of her. This conforms the stereotype
of gender because it shows that he is more
important and he is in control. Being a close
up shot you can see all his facial expressions
and you can tell that he cares for her which
also conforms the stereotype for men.
