1. Films Which Contain
The Same Elements As
Blind Premonitions.
All of the films that I researched are the same thriller genre
as ‘Blind Premonitions’.

2. The Grudge & The Ring
The mystery girl within our film ‘Blind Premonitions’ resembles main antagonist
within the grudge. The most obvious feature they both resemble is the long black
hair covering their faces, this suggests a sense of mystery as their identities are not
revealed. However in out film it is not known if the ‘mystery girl’ is an antagonist,
protagonist, victim or some sort of supernatural form.
This is also the same case with the main character in ‘The Ring’ who’s main trait and
feature is having her hair covering her face. The character who died at the start of
the film ‘Katie’ is off the same age as the ‘mystery girl’ in Blind Premonitions’
therefore both films target the same audience as that certain group can relate,
these are teenagers. The girl ‘samara’ the antagonist within the film contrasts with
the ‘mystery girl’ as she is represented as sinister whereas the mystery girl is initially
portrayed as a victim as she is seen running through trees which suggests she is
running away from danger.
4. Strangers On A Train &
Cabin In The Woods.
These two films are similar to ‘Blind Premonitions in terms of setting. Strangers on a
train is set in a train station which is the same with our film as Moor Street Train
Station is the main setting for our film. This elements is something a broader audience
can relate to especially the working class as most travel by train to work. Travelling
on a train is a common form of transport therefore this element is very effective as a
wide range of people can relate to it. As well as this it can seen as a place where a lot
can occur where it be positive or negative.
Cabin in the Woods is similar to our setting of Sutton Park as both present a derelict
environment. In both locations an extensive amount of trees of present this suggest
isolation and struggle to fit into a world of some sort. Therefore the characters
featured in this location are both represented as suppressed, lonely, abandoned and
as a victim figure. In both films we see both supernatural forms and ‘normal people’
that are shown to fit into society. These two concepts contrast.
5. Cabin in the woods Blind Premonitions
Strangers on a Train
Blind Premonitions
6. Woman In Black, Sinister &
The Pact
These films are similar to Blind Premonitions in terms of the costume the main
character is wearing. In all of these films the ‘victim’ figure or figure that isn’t in the
right mental state is seen wearing a dress which is usually white. White is a significant
colour as it represent purity and innocence therefore reflect the character as ‘an easy
target.’ A dress may also suggest that they are exposed to more danger and they are
‘free’ as a dress normally ‘flows’ which suggests some changes may occur or have
occur in this characters life. As well as this especially the characters wearing a dress in
woman in black and sinister are children, this is a similar age range to the ‘mystery
girl’ in Blind Premonitions who is a teenager.
Also in the pact the element of a bench is very significant, this is also important in our
storyline as the mystery girl is seen sitting on a bench in a derelict area looking
unstable and suppressed, she is also later seen sitting in the same stance while in the
train station this suggests a sense of déjà vu and supernatural.
