This document analyzes several shots from a film and how they represent gender through camera angles, composition, and lighting. In many shots, women like Martha are framed from low, high angles to make the audience look down on her and feel she is powerless, while men like The Master are framed eye-level or from below to signify their power and status above women. However, later shots start to subvert these stereotypes by showing Martha victorious from a high angle and The Master losing power by being framed from above as well. The document examines how editing, filters and CGI are also used to provide context and represent the transformation of gender roles.
