COSTUME
Tahmoor Ali
In every film, one of the best ways to portray a character is through the way they are dressed. The costume can show many things.
One example is to show if they are either an antagonist or a protagonist. A protagonist is the hero of the film. This is mainly a good
person. on the other hand an antagonist is the villain of the film, and is mainly the bad guy who is hated by the audience. In our film
we would need clothes to portray the clothes to show their role in our media film. The costume which we would need goes as
followed;
Our protagonist in our film would be
wearing a tracksuit. The reason why he
is wearing this is to signify to the
audience that he is a young person. the
reason why it would signify to the
audience that he is young is due to the
fact that mainly young people are seen
to be wearing a hooded tracksuit.
Also, you would not mainly see old
people wearing tracksuits. The tracksuit
also shows that he is not in the class a
category as class a people would
mainly wear posh clothing like suits.
Protagonist
A mime mask would also be worn by the
protagonist. The mime mask is used to
connote the fact that his identity would be
hidden. This signifies to the audience that this
is a narrative enigma in the film. The narrative
enigma is who is the person underneath the
mask and why is he killing the gangsters in the
film.
Black shoes would be used by the protagonist.
This would be used to show that he isn't trying
to stand out by putting on flashy clothing.
Black trainers fit with the rest of the clothing
as it doesn't stand out like colours like yellow.
Trainers also signify that he isn't of the class a
category. This shows that he is not very
wealthy compared to people wearing suit and
ties.
Antagonists
The antagonists in our film are 3 gangsters.
They are meeting up for a huge drug deal
which is taking place. The antagonists would
be wearing a suit. The suit signifies the fact
that they are very wealthy. This means that
there is a lot of money/drugs being exchanged
in the drug deal. The suit tells the audience
that he is of high class as he is wearing
something very posh. A suit also signifies high
class as you wouldn't mainly see a person of a
lower class who is always wearing a suit.
The black suit shoes signify that he is of a high
class. It shows he is of a high class as successful
people with a lot of money would be seen to
be wearing wealthy clothes such as a suit with
work shoes.
