Personality disorders are characterized by inflexible and maladaptive patterns of behavior. There are three clusters of personality disorders - Cluster A includes odd or eccentric behaviors like schizoid and paranoid personality disorders. Cluster B includes dramatic, emotional or erratic behaviors like antisocial, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders. Cluster C includes anxious, fearful behaviors like avoidant, dependent and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders. Personality disorders are caused by a combination of genetic, biological and environmental factors and result in difficulties in interpersonal relationships and coping with stress.
