8. How does SPC Work?
You can download the app and/or register
online. SPC discounts can be used in Barrhead
at KFC and The Source, in the city at the stores
listed and online, by logging into the SPC
website before you shop at the individual
retailers.

annual Terry Fox Walk on September 27th.
In light of our new filtered water fountains,
water will NOT be provided this year. Please

16. Zone Golf Results
Our Barrhead athletes represented our school
admirably. Our team which consisted of Arend,
Tristan, Gavin and Abe, won the team portion, by
shooting 230. The next closest was 257. On the
individual side, Arend and Tristan tied for gold by
shooting a 78 and Trysten gets to go to Provincials as
an individual--shot an 80 and received the bronze.
Provincials are at Innisfail and Alberta Springs.

24. 2019 BCHS Post Secondary Update
•A U of A representative will be at our school Monday
September 30th from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm in the library
•Post Secondary Representatives will be here at BCHS on
Friday October 4th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Grade 10,
11, and 12 students will be given a time to visit the
recruiters. Keep watching announcements for more
information.
•You will be seeing your “Detailed Academic Report”
(DAR) on Wednesday in TAG (Sept 25th) You will check
to make sure all of the information is correct. Tell your
TAG teacher if there are errors. This also has your
Alberta Student Number which you need for Apply
Alberta (applying for post-secondary.) along with a record
of your marks which you will input into Apply Alberta

• Most post secondary application dates open Oct
1st
•Students applying to Post Secondary will need
to create a “My Digital ID”
• Students will be using their created “My
Digital ID” and accessing the Apply Alberta site
which can be set up to be ready for Oct 1st.

• Mrs Bondarchuk will have “Apply
Workshops” in Computer lab 33 at lunch and
afterschool (3:30-4:00 pm) Monday to Friday
this week. An apply workshop will take place
after grade 12’s receive their DAR in
Wednesday’s TAG (Computer lab 33) and she
will have a workshop Friday morning during
ELT (same location)

34. • Barrhead 1st Scouts is looking for a high
school student that would like to join the
group as a junior leader
• Scouts meet Monday night 7-8:30 pm in the
east gym, when the school is operational (no
meetings on PD days/holidays). They usually
have 2 overnight camps/year, their first one
is tentatively scheduled Oct 26-27
