7. Wearing an Orange Shirt is meant to recognize the harm done to
residential school students, and show a commitment to the principle
that every child matters. A date in September was chosen because it
is the time of year when children were taken from their homes to
residential schools, and because it is an opportunity to set the stage
for anti-racism and anti-bullying policies for the coming school year.
Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for First Nations, local
governments, schools, and communities to come together in the
spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come.

• Most post secondary application dates open Tuesday Oct
1st(12:01 AM) – LPN fills up quickly!
•Students applying to Post Secondary will need to create an
Alberta “My Digital ID.” You do not have to verify this to
login to Apply Alberta (just confirm your email.) You will
need a verified ID (using your drivers license / government
ID) to get student loans.
• Students will be using their created “My Digital ID” and
accessing the Apply Alberta site which can be set up to be
ready for Oct 1st.
•Please remember to use an email that is not tied to your
school email and make sure you write down and keep your
password in a secure location

• Apply Alberta Important Information:
•You will hit the green apply button twice. Those
currently in our school – Do Not Have a Siams
Account (so say no here)
•You need to include all of your grade 11 and 12
course marks (including all CTS modules). For
courses in progress (this semester) or planned (next
semester) you need to enter a mark of what you
expect to get. You should go in an update your marks
in the middle of the semester and when you receive
your final marks.

October 1st, you will need access to a
credit card to pay the nonrefundable
application fee – see the post-secondary spreadsheet on the
school website to know ahead of time what the fee will be!

Workshops” in Computer lab 33 Tuesday at
lunch, and during ELT Wednesday. If you need
help at other times, just see Mrs. Bondarchuk
