MacEwan University is here November 26 from 12:30 – 2:30.
There will be a general information session in the library
during ELT.
If you would like to set up a time for a private meeting before

ensure the person has the information you require.

14. Admission requirements – you must have five Grade 12 courses with an
overall overage of 60+. One course must be English 30-1. Their programs
are non-competitive
King’s now is offering a four-year Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree.
King’s now has a new Kinesiology minor available
The Bachelor of Commerce degree is also newly accredited by the CPA and
CIM
If you are planning to go into medicine after your under graduate degree,
King’s may be a better choice for you. The classes are smaller, easier for
you to meet the admission requirements into medicine.

15. King’s View Friday allows you to tour campus, sit in on classes, connect
with Admissions staff, current student and professors. Days available are
October 26, November 30, February 1 and April 6. Register at
kingsu.ca/visit
King’s Encounter Weekend has the same as View Friday but you get to
spend two nights in residence. This is November 15-17 and March 21-23.
Register as above.
All new students are guaranteed a double occupancy Tower Room. It takes
you less than five minutes to get to class or the cafeteria.
Students are automatically awarded scholarships based on your admission
average.

16. A new Environmental Studies building opened in February featuring
increased lab and classroom space, a greenhouse and a water simulation
lab
Admission changes – registration as an EMR with the Alberta College of
Paramedics is no longer a pre-requisite for Primary Care Paramedic
There are university transfer programs here for Arts, Fine Arts, Commerce,
Education, Science or Social Work
Transfer to Alberta College of Art and Design - Students who have
completed the Artisan Entrepreneurship Diploma with an overage of C
(2.0) or higher will be considered for admission to year 3 of the Bachelor of
Fine Arts/Bachelor of Design on the basis of academic standing and
portfolio review

17. Open House at Lac La Biche Campus on October 23 from
4:00-6:00 pm
Application fee is waived if you apply at the open house.
There are a number of scholarships available. Apply early to
be eligible.
There are a variety of housing options for students and is
offered on a first-come, first served basis.

18. There is now a Bachelor of Science – Chemistry Major
For a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, you can now use Math
30-1 or Math 30-2 with a minimum grade of 60%

19. Once students have applied to Mount Royal and have a student ID, they
can apply for awards and scholarships
Students should apply for residence when they apply for admission. New
students are guaranteed a room if they apply and pay the deposit by June
15
The application deadline for Education, Interior Design, Midwifery and
Nursing is February 1 otherwise applications are accepted until the
program is full.
For competitive average programs, your average is based on your two
highest Group A marks. You can self-declare your marks.
The personal email your provide on your application is how you receive
notifications.

20. No programs are competitive and offers of admission are offered on a first
qualified, first accepted basis, and as such all applicants are encouraged to
apply early
