Pink T Shirt Day is February 27, 2019
Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and over the
Internet. Each year, on Pink T-Shirt Day, I encourage all of you to wear something
pink to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere. Take the
message and remember it all year long.
It is so important that victims of bullying know they are not alone and there is help
and support available. Wearing a pink shirt on this day sends a strong message to
them that others care. Often, the simple act of wearing a shirt can start
conversations - conversations can be a big step towards healing and helping!

Accessibility Services offers learning support for students who require
accommodations and services to fully participate in a learning
environment. Some of the common accommodations include: tutoring,
academic strategies, assistive technology, exam accommodation, alternate
format textbooks, and so much more. Here are some tips for students who
require these services to ensure they have a smooth and supported
transition to Lethbridge College:
• Know your diagnosis: Understand your disability and how it impacts
your learning. Understand what accommodations you require. Obtain
appropriate documentation.
• Apply at least six months before program start date: Apply to your
Lethbridge College program of choice with adequate time to get
accepted.
• Make an appointment with Accessibility Services two to three months
before program start date: Ensure that you allow enough time to apply
for appropriate funding and set up individualized support services.
FYI, all post-secondary schools offer this service. If you require this service,
please inquire at the school you have chosen. These tips will help as well.
