• Congratulations to all athletes who competed in
the Track and Field Provincials. You scored some
great points for our school. We finished 15 out of
51, 3A school in the province.

had won the first "Gold" medal
of the track meet in the Junior
Boys 3000 meter.
• On Saturday he returned to
compete in the Junior Mens
1500 meter and was edged out
by a human hair at the finish
line for a 2nd place

9. Sr. High Athletic Awards
The 34th Annual Athletic Awards Night will be held
this Wednesday June 8th in the East gym starting
at 6:00 pm.
This is a potluck dinner and ceremonies.
We do not send out individual invites to this event,
as we want ALL 2015-16 athletes to attend.
Athletes can sign-up in the foyer Mon to Wed of this
week.

10. BCHS Scholarship Booklet
Please be advised that the Scholarship Booklet for
this year's awards is now available in the office.
Grade 12 students should pick up a copy and apply
for some helpful educational awards (yes, that
means MONEY).

11. The Sports Management Diploma Program is Still
Accepting Applicants!
Sport Management professionals combine the
administration of sport, fitness and recreation with
the foundations of business to work as leaders and
planners in an ever-changing field. If you
are organized, adaptable, and passionate about
sports, fitness and recreation, Olds College Sport
Management program could be just what you are
looking for.

12. The Fashion Marketing program is still accepting
applications!
This program is fantastic for students with a flare for
style and a passion for fashion. Students go on to
work in store layout, as buyers for boutiques and
chain stores, stylists and are even trained in digital
and print marketing. The Fashion Institute focuses on
preparing graduates to professionally contribute to
the fashion industry through visual design, garment
analysis, image consulting and styling in a client
centered environment.

If you have not already received your RAP
scholarship application form from Ms Wegner, check
in with her
If you taken CTS classes in one of these pathways -
Automotive Service Technician, Carpenter, Cook,
Hairstylist, or Welder, you may be able to apply for
the CTS scholarship.
If you plan on apprenticing within the next year, you
may also eligible for RAP and the scholarship. See
Ms Wegner on how to do RAP after graduation.

21. Summer Career Camp
From Monday, July 4 to Friday, July 8, the University of Alberta Career
Centre is holding a Summer Career Camp for students who will be in grade
10, 11, 12 or post-grade 12 this upcoming fall.
Participants from last summer’s camp experienced a 20% increase in
optimism about their career, a 65% increase in knowledge about
researching careers, and a 71% increase in identifying next steps in their
career. Their favorite part of camp was spending a day visiting workplaces
and interacting with the professionals who worked there.
