• The University Calendar provides the information

program.
• The U of A is excited to announce that the new 2016-
17 University Calendar format provides searchable,
integrated, and efficient online information for students.
Accepting an Admission Offer
• Students that have accepted their offer will be able to
start registering in classes as early as April 4, 2016.
• If you have not already done so, accept your admission
offer and pay the $500 tuition deposit!
• The sooner you pick your classes, the better choices
you will have.
Registration 101 Resources
• Reg 101 tip sheets and online Reg 101 videos are now
available on the website!
• Reg 101 tip sheets provide students with information
on how to select classes and build a timetable for their

On-Campus Employment
2016-17 Competitive Program
Admission Averages
• Beginning with the Fall 2016 intake MacEwan University
has moved to a competitive admission model for all of its
competitive programs.
• As a result of the competitive admission process, the
minimum grade cut-offs listed in the admission requirements
for many competitive programs are rarely sufficient for a
successful application.
• If a student is interested in a competitive program, they will
often require higher grades than the minimums listed in the
admission requirements to be considered
• Programs that are not considered competitive will continue
to use the first-qualified, first-admitted admission model.
Matriculation Project
As of January 25, 2016 their system has been updated such
that students must accept or decline offers of admission to
the university. A new Accept/Decline option is available in the
Student Services Centre online to capture a student's desire to
act on an offer of admission (this option is not yet available on
the MacEwan -- myStudentSystem app).
Matriculation Project cont.
This new process is in place for the Fall 2016 intake. If you
applied, were accepted and paid your admission confirmation
fee (deposit) before January 25, 2016 you do not have to
accept or decline the offer, but any student applying after
January 25 or who had applied before January 25 but was not
accepted until after January 25 will be required to accept or
decline the offer. If a student is accepted to their first-choice
program on their application but wishes to pursue admission
to their second-choice program, they must decline their first-
choice program and indicate they want to retain their second-
choice program.

  • 27. 2016-17 Competitive Program Admission Averages • Beginning with the Fall 2016 intake MacEwan University has moved to a competitive admission model for all of its competitive programs. • As a result of the competitive admission process, the minimum grade cut-offs listed in the admission requirements for many competitive programs are rarely sufficient for a successful application. • If a student is interested in a competitive program, they will often require higher grades than the minimums listed in the admission requirements to be considered • Programs that are not considered competitive will continue to use the first-qualified, first-admitted admission model.
  • 28. Matriculation Project As of January 25, 2016 their system has been updated such that students must accept or decline offers of admission to the university. A new Accept/Decline option is available in the Student Services Centre online to capture a student's desire to act on an offer of admission (this option is not yet available on the MacEwan -- myStudentSystem app).
  • 29. Matriculation Project cont. This new process is in place for the Fall 2016 intake. If you applied, were accepted and paid your admission confirmation fee (deposit) before January 25, 2016 you do not have to accept or decline the offer, but any student applying after January 25 or who had applied before January 25 but was not accepted until after January 25 will be required to accept or decline the offer. If a student is accepted to their first-choice program on their application but wishes to pursue admission to their second-choice program, they must decline their first- choice program and indicate they want to retain their second- choice program.
