3. The vehicles are facing severe safety challenges, which calls for vehicle-mounted video surveillance to ensure
security. Governments and industry associations are releasing regulations forcing mobile surveillance on commercial
vehicles, school buses, engineering vans, etc.
Background & Policy
4. As a result of the continuously increasing demand, the global mobile video surveillance market keeps growing fast.
Market
5. Real time alarm & evidence is
needed for vehicles:
• Evidence of robbery, arson,
murder…
• Real time alarm to the center
when emergency happens
Supervision on drivers to
regulate the service:
• Smoking
• Making phone calls while
driving
• Sexual assault
• Dispute
• Speeding
Theft on buses calls for mobile
surveillance evidence.
Evidence of car accidents is
required.

30. Motion Detection When Engine Off
Tragedy happens when driver stops the school
bus yet child/pupil left locked inside. In summer time,
the temperature in such enclosed space may reach
60℃, possibly resulting in child/pupil’s DEATH!
The MVR can be connected to the vehicle’s
battery directly so that it can keep working for
hours after the vehicle engine off.
The MVR can detect the vehicle’s battery’s
level and switch itself off when the battery
goes below some threshold.
Camera keeps working after the vehicle
engine off and motion detection keeps
armed so that in case child/pupil left
locked inside the vehicle, motion
detection alarm will be triggered.
School bus reaches the
destination and driver
switches the engine off
and locks the bus.
A child/pupil is left inside
sleeping. When he wakes
up calling for help, motion
detection will be triggered.
Monitor center receives
the alarm and checks the
situation by live view and
finds the left-behind
child/pupil.
Security person go to save
the child/pupil.
31. Fence Crossing Alarm
Draw an area (circle or polygon) and then
define an alarm type:
Region enter alarm: If the vehicle goes
into this region, alarm will be triggered;
Region exit alarm: If the vehicle goes
out of this region, alarm will be triggered;
Draw the region and
define the alarm type as
“region exit”
The Tokyo Taxi Company’s taxis
are forbidden to go out of Tokyo
city, so draw the region of Tokyo
city on the map;
Vehicle goes out of the
region and alarm is
triggered
One of the taxis goes out of
Tokyo city, and alarm is triggered
and sent to monitor center;
Monitor center checks
the situation and takes
reaction
Taxi company needs to check
why the taxi goes out of Tokyo
city, and take reaction: Is it a
carjacking?
The online car-hailing vehicles
are forbidden to go near the
military controlled zone, so draw
the region surrounding the zone
on the map;
One of the vehicles enters the
military controlled zone
surrounding area, and alarm is
triggered and sent to monitor
center;
The supervision department
needs to check why it goes there,
and take reaction: could it be a
bomb carrier?
Draw the region and
define the alarm type as
“region enter”
Vehicle goes into the
region and alarm is
triggered
Monitor center checks
the situation and takes

32. Deviation Alarm
Draw a route and then define a deviation
range, so the vehicle must follow this route,
otherwise alarm will be triggered.
Draw a route on the map
and define a deviation
range
Vehicle deviates from the
route exceeding the
range
Monitor center checks
the situation and takes
reaction
Since the cash truck needs
specially high secure level, its
route between the bank branches
and the vault must be carefully
designed, and the driver should
follow this route strictly.
One of the cash trucks is not
following the route, deviating from
the designed route exceeding the
deviation range.
The monitor center should check
the status of the cash truck to see
why it deviates, making sure that
the valuable is highly secured.
33. Over Speeding Alarm
Alarm configuration Alarm triggered Two-way audio Alarm history check
Configure over speeding
alarm in the platform
In the monthly/seasonal/yearly
performance assessment, taxi
company officer retrieves all the
vehicles’ over speeding alarm
history for reference.
Monitor center receives the alarm
and starts two-way audio with the
driver to remind him to slow down.
The taxi is travelling 100km/h,
alarm is triggered.
In order to ensure safety, taxis are
forbidden to exceed 80km/h (user-
defined speed limit).

51. De Lijn Project
Country: Belgium
Industry: Public Transportation
End User: De Lijn
Time: Q3, 2016
Introduction:
De Lijn is a company run by the Flemish government in Belgium to provide public transportation with about 3650 buses and
359 trams. By now, Hikvision has helped to manage about 500 MDVRs(5504) and 2000 channels in the buses. In the future, it
will expand to be more than 5000 channels totally. Hikvision’s solution provides a convenient and practical way to manage all
the mobile devices, helping the end-user save quite a lot of man power.
52. Arriva Project
Country: Serbia
Industry: Public Transportation
End User: Arriva Bus
Time: Q4, 2016
Introduction:
Arriva is one of the largest bus operators in Serbia, holding around 4% share of the nation’s total bus market. This project
involves 1600 channels. It is the first overseas mobile surveillance project of with central platform in Europe. 400 buses for
Serbia are equipped with Hikvision CCTV cameras, DVRs. In this surveillance system, users can review the real-time video,
locate the buses on GIS map and track them in real time via iVMS platform. The success of this project sets the example for
the future mobile surveillance projects in Europe.
53. Colombia Project
Country: Colombia
Industry: Public Transportation
End User: Cali
Time: 2018
Introduction:
Cali is in southwestern Colombia. We cooperated with local MIO bus company through SI. In the first and second stage of this
project, 160 buses were equipped with mobile surveillance device and iVMS-5200M platform.
Their further requirement is normal video and event video back-up in our CVR. We have already achieved this function under
5.8GHz Wi-Fi circumstance.
