2. Introduction
An amazing increase in the growth of population in this world leads to the rapid increase in the
number of vehicles being used. As people uses vehicles for transportation so there is large
number of vehicles exists for people convenience. The most traffic occurs only because of vehicle
congestion in the urban areas thus people are wasting time in searching the parking area abnormally to park
their vehicles. Our system is an Arduino UNO Microcontroller (ATmega 328P) based parking sensor which
contains camera to detect the empty parking spaces and sends this data to server, this stored data is accessed
by users. This enhances the user to check the status/availability of parking spaces before setting their journey.
Here the challenge is to use the existing resources in optimum level to reduce the searching time, traffic
congestion in the city.
Our project is based on Internet Of Things application which uses sensors to collect the information and sends
this data to the server, This stored data is accessed by users.
3. EXISTING PROBLEM
As we all know that the world’s population is increasing day by day and automation is also leads to growth. So the
entire world is facing a problem of vehicular parking . There is no space for vehicle parking easily available
everywhere. The three main problem that the increasing number of vehicles and decreasing efficiency of busy
parking lots are:
1. Valuable time wasted from inconvenient and inefficient parking lots
on average, 3.5-12 mins spent waiting for a spot in parking lots.
2. More fuel consumed while idling or driving around parking lots, leading to more CO2 emission being
produced.
Average distance travelled looking for spot =12 KM.
Average CO2 produced per car day = 14kg CO2.
14kg of 1000 cars per day and 5110kg per year just for 1000 cars.
3. Potential accidents caused by abundance of moving vehicles in disorganised parking lots.
413 accidents occurred in public parking lots.
Parking system issue.
More and more multi-story buildings are springing up every-day thus giving rise to parking problems. Thus there is
shortage of land which leads to cutting down of trees and deforestation. This has a harsh and adverse effect on
the environment. The project aims at saving the ground space required for parking. Using this system any number
of cars can be parked according to the requirement.
4. Solution domain
As the problems which are listed in the Previous slide we are using the following techniques
for the solutions.
1. Embedded kit
we had assembled an embedded device using IR Sensor, servo motor, Wi fi module, I2C
module for LCD, Arduino UNO .
2. Web Application
The name of our web -application is E-park. It is developed on the following
