Indefinite Pronouns
• We use indefinite pronouns to refer to people or things
without saying exactly who or what they are.
• We use pronouns ending in -body or -one for people, and
pronouns ending in -thing for things:
1) Everybody enjoyed the concert.
2) I opened the door but there was no one at home.
3) It was a very clear day. We could see everything.
The rules in using indefinite pronoun in a
sentence:
• Everybody agrees with her
opinion
• Everything is ready
• Nothing is wrong with this
article
• We always use singular
verbs with indefinite
pronouns
The rules in using indefinite pronoun in a
sentence:
• He going to do anything to
win the game.
• She says nothing about the
issue.
• There is something in your
hair.
• We use the indefinite
pronouns ending in –thing
to refer to objects, ideas,
situations or activities
• Someone is cleaning the
room.
• Nobody is coming late
today
• Anyone can watch this
movie
• We use the indefinite
pronouns ending in –one
and –body to refer to
