2. ISLAND RECORDS
Island logo, was established in 1959 in New York City,
New York, United States. The logo for island records
has a palm tree as its main image and black background
shaped as a sun behind the palm tree. The design of
the logo is not very complicated. The logo represents
calm and relaxing music because of the picture of the
palm tree which is often associated with comfort and
pleasure. The name of the record company is beneath
the image in capital letters the names included so the
audience can easily can recognize it creating the
companies star persona.
3. EPIC RECORDS
Epic records, was established in 1953 in New York City,
New York, United States. Sony Music Entertainment are
the parent organization of both Epic records and
Columbia records. The epic records logo is more of a
simple italic design compared to the other two as this
does not have any images with their logo as the others do.
This is because the name is written in a fancy way which
makes it noticeable to the audience. Script logo, used
from late 1978 to 1990, was revived in 2005 and was used
until 2011 and revived again in 2015. this reflects on
genre because its fancy which imposes the up beat genre
but its simple so its connectable to a younger audience.
4. COLUMBIA RECORDS
Columbia records, was established in 1988
in Washington, D.C., United States. Sony Music
Entertainment are the parent organization of both Epic
records and Columbia records. The Columbia records logo
is a walking eye which is shown as a camera. This logo
actually shows the legs on a record (the eye) however,
the eye also refers to CBS's main business in television,
and that division's iconic Eye logo. The only colours used
are black and white because its not dominating but still
noticeable due to its creative design
