This is the second annotation of a website's pages, created as part of my A2 Media Coursework.

1. Annotation of a Website’s Pages #2 – Eminem
Home page:
The navigation bar is
utilized on this home page
on the top left corner and
it is a standard convention
of a webpage in order for
audiences to navigate
through the different
contents on this website
includingtour dates,the
shop, videos and lyrics of
Eminem’s songs.
Eminem’s home page features
a crossfadingslideshow.This is
used more often in websites
now, as a modern day
convention. Eminem uses it to
update his audience with music
and important announcements.
In the still below,the crossfade
slideshowis promotinga new
Eminem track.
The page makes use of
a black background.
Eminem uses this as
more of a stereotype
in regard to rap music.
Rap music is often
noted for connoting
dull and dark colours,
hence why Eminem
may have used the
background.
In terms of font,
Eminem uses a
standard one.
However, he makes
use of high-case
letters in order to
connote the power of
rap,as it is often seen
in other websites. The
use of grey colour on
the text also is used to
illustraterap because
rap is often associated
with dull colours.
Eminem makes useof
a news section.This
could be in order to
keep his audience up
to date with the latest
news regardinghis
music and any events
coming up.
Eminem also makes use of
shortcuts in his website that
would directly take his
audience to his shop for
merchandise. And his other
link is regarding music that
would most probably take the
audience to an external site
where they can listen to his
music.

2. Other Page: Lyric Page
Acknowledgements and credits.
This is often used as a convention in
websites. The use of these record
label logos is to acknowledge that
this is where Eminem records his
music and givingthem credit
affirms the external involvement in
Eminem’s music,in terms of
fundingand distribution of the
music on to technological or CD
media platforms.
There is a lot of similar
conventions used in this page
than with the home page of the
website, such as font, colour,
uppercaseletters and black
backgrounds. This may be used
to establish a relationship
between the pages so that they
are similar,which will help the
website, aesthetically.
The image used in this lyric
page is the artwork for ‘The
Eminem Show’ album.
Eminem has used this for
brand identity. The album
has often garnered attention
for its uniquecurtain
artwork, which Eminem used
for this albumand for his
‘Encore’ album, and so by
displayingtheartwork,
audiences aremore likely to
know that the lyrics originate
from this album.
