IntroductionAfter getting a brief understand about what music videos are ,and their purpose, if I am to make a music video myself, having to know and understand the codes and conventions I also need to be familiar with the institutions. Music Institutions are essential to understand as they are the companies that fund and create the music videos that we consumers watch, this presentation expands upon existing institutions including EMI and Sony Music.

3. Sony Music Entertainment Sony Music Entertainment is the second-largest global recorded music company. The company, which evolved into Sony Music, was founded in 1929 as the American Record Corporation through the merger of several smaller record companies. Sony renamed the record company Sony Music Entertainment on January 1, 1991, fulfilling the terms set under the 1988 buyout, which granted only a transitional license to the CBS trademark. To replace the CBS label, Sony reintroduced the Columbia label worldwide, which it previously held in the united States and Canada only. 4. Warner Music Group Warner Music Group was founded in 1958, during this time it was known as Warner Bros Records but was sold to another company called Seven Art Production in the 1960’s. As the years progresses Warner Group has evolved and built a up status within the music industry. In 2004 the company renamed to Warner Music Group as it be came an independent holder.
