Being the largest sportswear manufacture in Europe as well as the second largest all over the world, Adidas Company not only specializes in sportswear but also in bags, shoes, shirts, clothing and other sports related areas. Adidas logo, representing the durability and elegance, is a three parallel striped design that symbolizes the mountain which is to point towards the goals and challenges that lay ahead. AdiDassler, together with his brother Rudolf Dassler, created the Adidas logo, aiming to provide the athletes with the finest possible gear.<br />Started off as a three striped motif in 1967, Adidas logo was imprinted on shoes only. Following its success, in 1971 it changed to a Trefoil logo. Later on it merged with Salomon, which formulated the Adidas logo to a combination signifying both the designs; blue color for Adidas and red denoting Salomon. Sequentially, the Adidas logo in 2005 changed itself to a “World mark” remaining simple, confident and clear<br />

  7. 7. The American Express Company forms a noted position in the international market and acquires an international recognition. Likewise, the American Express logo is a famous symbol of the company’s reputation and acknowledgment. Laying its first base in, 1850 in New York, it started off in the great era of economic development of the United States. Since then it has been able to maintain its quality standards and the trustworthy banner.<br />The American Express logo, as in its ancient times, consisted of a Viking image. Currently this image is omitted from the logo, leaving a very simple and to the point depiction of the purpose it has. Today, like the company itself, the American Express logo is seen as a motif of trust, reputation, simplicity and quality standards.<br />

The Apple Computer holds a significant position in the corporate world due to its paramount products ranging from computers to latest gadgets like iPods, QuickTime, Macintosh etc. The Apple logo is recognized as one of the most famous logos across the IT world, prominently because it forms the largest and most successful brand. It has been presented as a landmark company for more than 30 years from now, paving its way to further success.<br />Besides the uniqueness of the Apple logo, it has an even more interesting history. The earliest Apple logo features Sir Isaac Newton sitting under the tree from where he derived his theorems of gravity. The apple itself in the Apple logo today symbolizes the identity of the Apple brand. Moreover, the Apple logo just before what we look at today, consisted of 7 colors of the rainbow, speaking of the separation of white light and the introduction of colors to the IT products. Another story that evolute behind the Apple logo is concerning the father of computing, Alan Turing who had committed suicide after eating a cyanide-laced apple. The Apple logo pays a tribute to the legend.<br />

British Broadcasting Corporation, more commonly known as BBC, was based in UK as a broadcasting conglomerate and has verified to be the world’s prime broadcasting corporation over the years. BBC employs around 28,500 individuals in United Kingdom with an annual budget of £4 billion or $8 billion. It is the most governing broadcasting corporation that produces programs for television, radio and the Internet. It is recognized all over the globe with the help of its notable and impressive logo design<br />

  13. 13. Established in 1913, the BMW Company has touched the height of success with immense accomplishment. BMW, which stands for BayerischeMotorenWerke or Bavarian Motor Company, was based in Munich, Germany. BMW is also the parent firm of MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands. Undoubtedly, the blue and white BMW logo is a fundamental ingredient for the company’s prosperous attitude. The BMW logo has been minutely altered through the years but still continues to compel a strong corporate image.<br />As the company started as an aero engine manufacturer, it adopted the stylized demonstration of airplane propeller whirling by the plain blue sky. The BMW logo encompasses the four quadrants of blue and white shade. The logo design represents the white propeller blade against the blue sky, which depicts the company as the manufacturer of military aircraft engines during World War I.<br />

  15. 15. Burger King forms one of the leading food chains all over the world. The Burger King logo made its debut in 1967, and is still nearly what it used to look like before. It started off its base in USA as Insta Burger King by James McLamore and David Edgerton. The Burger King logo has a circular appearance with a little tilt of the fonts, plus coupled with vibrant colors. The logo design comprises of bun halves with the fonts in the middle. The journey of the Burger King logo remained smooth throughout. The early logo was with ochre colors buns with a dull blue swoosh which changed to a bright blue and finally to a dull one again. The final Burger King logo is nearly circular with burgundy fonts.<br />

A brilliant simple cross in customary metallic colors representing the automobile industry defines the Chevy logo completely. Being a very simple yet elegant trademark, the Chevy logo design compels an everlasting impact on the human mind. <br />A trademark identity is the major ingredient used to promote a corporation and its products. Produced by one of the world’s most governing automobile makers, General Motors, Chevrolet is a leading brand of top-class vehicles. Evidently, the company needed a logo design for promoting and marketing their product. Hence, the Chevy logo was first introduced in 1913 by William Durant.<br />

  19. 19. Founded in 1980 by Ted Turner, Cable News Network, generally referred as CNN, is now one of the major English Language Television Network. However, the leading network is now owned by Time Warner and the broadcasting unit is a branch of Turner Broadcasting System. It was undoubtedly the first broadcasting station to present 24-hour television news coverage. Nevertheless, the CNN logo has acquired a prominent position in the corporate world due to its significant features.<br />CNN logo has remained unaltered and the emblem has maintained its consistent look through years. CNN logo immediately projects a notion of world’s leader with immense supremacy attitude. In 1999, CCN launched a set of new timelapse emblems for its international networks. The new series of CCN logos clearly conveys power, innovation and technology of the network. CCN logos prove that the CNN Corporation is justly global, establishing regional identities.<br />

  21. 21. The logo above is the corporate version of the FedEx logo. The FedEx logo was created in 1994 by Lindon Leader, as Senior Design Director at Landor Associates. It has been ranked by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the 8 best logos of the past thirty-five years. The logo has won over forty awards worldwide.<br />

  23. 23. Throughout the world, racing fans are certainly familiar with the famous sports cars namely Ferrari. Based in Italy and founded in 1929, Ferrari has ruled the world by its outclass performance in racing, especially Formula One has enjoyed great heights of success. Nevertheless, Ferrari logo has participated in the prominence of the sports cars at its best. <br />The famous Ferrari logo with the ‘prancing horse’ symbol was originally the character of Count Francesco Baracca, a legendary “asso” (ace) of the Italian air force in the period of World War I. The designer of the Ferrari logo painted this icon on the side of his plane. It was later assumed after his death that the selection of the horse of the Ferrari logo on his planes was because of the fact that his noble family owned a large number of horses in their estates Lugo di Romagna.<br />

  25. 25. The exact year of the beginning of the Honda company is not known but they say it was some 58 years ago. Started by Soichiro Honda, the company made its way to style, elegance, durability and success. The Honda logo was designed by the Japanese automaker Honda somewhere in the middle of 1996 and 2001 The Honda Company is the largest motorcycle manufacturer and also the 3rd most successful and largest car manufacturer. Today the company produces diversified products such as cars, motorcycles, power tools, marine equipment etc.<br />The Honda logo today is one of the most powerful logo that is seen. Like the reputation it has across the globe, the logo is a design that signifies the company’s trust and durability.<br />

  27. 27. The Harley Davidson Company began as a manufacturer of motorcycles but now is more of a brand. The Harley Davidson logo today is not only seen on motorbikes, but also on shirts, belt buckles, pens, posters, wallpapers etc. Today the logo remains as a powerful and a famous sign among the young specially the males, inspired by the evergreen love of bikes and automobiles among this age group.<br />The Harley Davidson Company was started by William S. Harley in 1902. Together with Arthur Davidson, in 1903 they assembled their very first two-cylinder motorcycle, marking the beginning of the Harley Davidson. The Harley Davidson logo was created in 1910 and since then did not evolve much. More commonly known as the ‘bar and shield’ logo, it is renowned all over the world.<br />

HP joined hands with Sony and Yokogawa Electronic companies in 1960’s, which did not turn out to be an enormous achievement; hence the company collaborated with Yokogawa to form Yokogawa-Hewlett-Packard in 1963. Later, the HP Company decided using Digital Equipment Corporation computers along with its devices but later on this idea was rejected and in 1966 it began with HP 2100/ HP 1000 series of minicomputers.<br />The HP logo, as it is at present since the day HP began its passage, remains quite the same with very little or no evolution. Despite its simplicity, the logo is well-recognized all over the world of technology. It forms as a pioneer in delivering the message of the quality standards and achievements it provides.<br />

It is one of the best examples of a simple yet attractive emblem and is certainly an ideal illustration of the brand. IBM logo depicts confidence, value, quality and innovative technology for the customer. This is the reason IBM logo has contributed immensely for the company promotion in the IT market. <br />Initially, the company adopted a globe version for IBM logo. Through the years, it was redesigned and improved several times. When globe version of IBM logo failed, the company employed a friendly and easy image for the logo design. In the renovated emblem, the letters ‘IBM’ were inscribed in a bold and impressive typeface. After some years, this IBM logo was again revamped but the alphabets were featured in the same manner.<br />

Based in Santa Clara, California, USA, Intel Electronics corporations has excelled in producing personal computers, motherboard chipsets, network cards and ICs, flash memory, graphic chips, embedded processors and many other devices related to communications and computing. <br />Intel Corp. has worked very intelligently on its marketing strategies. It has become one of the major established computer brands because of its once prolonged “Intel Inside” campaign. Around 39 years ago, the Intel logo which featured a ‘dropped e’ was designed by Silicon Valley pioneers Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore. In 1991, the company signified the Intel logo with the ‘Intel Inside’ slogan in order to promote the new redesigned insignia.<br />

Global expansion has caused the firms to launch an identity design for branding and management of their product. The logo confirms the quality and authenticity of the product throughout the world. Consequently, when McDonald’s extended its business worldwide, it required and utilized a logo design that guarantees the products’ value globally.<br />Created by Jim Schindler in 1962, McDonald’s logo has proven itself to be an insignia of multinational business expansion. Recognized directly with the US, McDonald’s logo is also labeled as “part of Americanization and American cultural imperialism”. Elegance, significance and solid corporate character are clearly depicted by the golden arches of the McDonald’s logo. Later in 1968, the name “McDonald’s” was adjoined with the McDonald’s logo. <br />

  37. 37. The history of automobiles was eternally changed after the two companies, Benz & Cie and Daimler MotorenGesellschaft (DMG) amalgamated to form a new entity namely Mercedes Benz. Both the companies were each others rival however due to the financial crisis after the World War I, the companies decide to merge and promote the sale of their product. <br />Nevertheless, the new born company required a new logo design. Thus, the Mercedes logo was shaped to serve as the sole identity for the company. Mercedes logo is now one of the most recognizable logo through out the world. Originally created by Gottlieb Daimler, the Mercedes logo is a simple design that reflects class, integrity and personality.<br />

  39. 39. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, widely known as MGM, is a leading American production house paving its way towards prosperity since 1924. It came into being by the entertainment entrepreneur Marcus Loew who acquired hegemony over Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures Corporation and Louis B. Mayer Pictures. Loew merged these three production companies and formed the now well-known Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer media company. Ever since the company was born, MGM has retained a definite and impressive logo design to demonstrate the power of the corporation.<br />MGM logo is genuinely presented with Leo the Lion which has rather become a mascot for the Hollywood production house MGM. Leo the Lion is the chief feature portrayed in the MGM logo which depicts the high corporate image of the firm. MGM logo has abide some alterations but the logo design has never lost its worth. It still continues to project the same notion of class, credibility and durability as it used to reflect when it was first created. With the passage of time, the postures of the lion were altered to some extents but the originality of the MGM logo did not bear any variation.<br />

Starting from the athletic shoes to the apparel and accessories, Nike has confirmed that it rules the sportswear industry. This position has been accomplished by making a strong impact on the audience through its powerful logo. It’s quite hard to find an individual who does not recognize the Nike logo. From decades, Nike logo has established a well stable and recognized attitude and still holds the ground strong enough to pursue further.<br />The Nike logo, also known as the “Swoosh”, is an emblem created in 1971 by an outstanding graphic design student at Portland State University, namely Carolyn Davidson. She started as a freelance worker for the company, Blue Ribbon Sports, owned by Phil Knight. Working together they selected the mark now known as the Swoosh worldwide.<br />Nike logo, the Swoosh, can be merely described as Simple, Fluid and Fast. These words depict the Nike logo that has successfully grown to be one of the most influential insignia throughout the world.<br />

  43. 43. Playboy, America’s eminent magazine was founded by the then 27-year-old Hugh Marston Hefner. This magazine was first released in the American market in December 1953. Playboy is the leading magazine which rules over the world with over 3 million copies in USA and 4.5 million magazines globally. There is no doubt that the playboy logo has played a vital responsibility in uplifting the magazine’s corporate image.<br />Art Paul, the first designer of the playboy logo sketched the well-known bunny head, wearing a tuxedo bow tie, which has been used since the second issue. The interesting fact about the playboy logo is that ever since it was printed on the magazine issue, it is still in use in its original form and has never been altered. <br />

Puma now sponsors around 30 national football teams globally. Furthermore, the organization has sponsored some famous football celebrities including Pelé, Johan Cruijff, EnzoFrancescoli, Diego Maradona and LotharMatthäus. Puma also specializes in fabricating driving shoes and race suits. <br />Indeed, the company needed a logo design to represent its bold market picture. The first Puma logo was shaped in 1948. The similar Puma logo is still being used worldwide with little amendments in it. It delivers a clear notion of solid corporate position by its emblematic icon and brave typeface.<br />
