Existing Product
In this Scene from the legend of Zelda you can see the
protagonist Link fighting one of the many monsters called the
Octorock. In this scene there isn't many colours except green
and cream which happen to be the most dominant. However
the contrast from the orange makes the enemies pop out. As
you can see the main Protagonist Link is seen from a side view
but the Octorocks are seen from a birds eye view.
Existing Product
In this Scene from Metroid you can see the protagonist Samus
fighting one of the many monsters. In this scene there isn't
many colours except blue and black which happen to be the
most dominant. However the contrast from the orange and red
makes the Samus pop out. As you can see the main Protagonist
Samus, the same as the monsters making this a side scroller
style game like
Existing Product
In this Scene from the Donkey Kong Country you can see the
protagonist Diddy Kong fighting one of the many monsters
called Gnawty. In this scene we can see Piles of Bananas
standing in the background as we see the protagonist jumping
on the boss. There isn't much colour except yellow and black
However the contrast from the brown and red makes Donkey
and Diddy Kong stand out. As you can see the main
Protagonists Donkey and Diddy Kong can be seen from a side
view, the same as Gnawty.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
All the products I’ve researched happen to be side Scroller games meaning
they move from left to right. They also don’t have many conflicting colours
just 2-3 solid colours like black and blue.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
In my final product I shall include they side scroller aspect and the retro
Attacks, character creations and backgrounds.
