2. Brief
5623 is an Original Flight combat game set in the fictional
world of ‘5623’ I chose a number to designate the planet
rather than a conventional name because I felt that a name
represents meaning and significance. I wanted to convey the
fact that this world doesn’t. It is a mining planet that belongs
in the ‘Mayamud’cluster that is part of the ‘lululu’ galaxy.
The game is set in the fictional Mayamud cluster in the Lululu
galaxy. The rationale for fictional setting is so that we weren’t
held back creatively in terms of content. We also chose this
because it was the post popular option in our survey that we
carried out to gamers male and female age 18-35
3. Target audience
• I chose red as the background of most of the graphic
material because it is a colour mostly associated with
action and violence. That is the target audience I am
aiming for. I also have the main character, the main
antagonist, the sidekick (who is holding a gun, which
appeals to action genre) and the aircraft that they
wield. I put the plane front and centre because it is a
game about flight and aerial combat with RPG style
narrative elements to it. This appeals to my target
audience due to the use of jet-fighter aircraft which
symbolizes the interest in aviation in-game, and also
portrays the game as being fast-pace; which is normally
a trope of action-genre games.
4. Art Work Layout
• The final Art work for the game features two
characters, the protagonist and the antagonist
standing next to each other, with there
respective aircraft placed underneath them in
a position that shows they are dogfighting.
This was done to emphasis the rivalry
between the two sides and to show that the
stakes (like any war) were high. and high
stakes will appeal to fans of Action genres.
5. Artwork Content
• On the concept magazine spread, the
background shifts from shades of red, from a
lighter strawberry red to a much darker
maroon. This is to imply that there is
no true hero to the story, there is only the
lesser of two evils and I think that a narrative
twist like this on will appeal to fans of RPGs
who who enjoy story-driven games.
6. Feedback
we received early feedback from fans asking for
more personalization to their characters
From that feedback, we made it so players will be
able to alter the appearance of the main character's
face, and chose between a default face to a custom
one. As well as this, the player can chose his or her
character's service records, history, and starting
skills; tropes that are commonly found in RPG
games. We did this because we wanted the fans to
connect with their virtual avatar and feel as if they
were the one’s flying and fighting.
