in multiple ways. In just a few words, please share: How have you
experienced the concept of "mental health" within your own cultural communities?
● It’s shameful
● Sign of weakness
● It’s not really common in Filipino household and being
dually diagnosed with mental illness I have to hide
● It isn’t taken serious
● In my culture it’s taken as a taboo to even talk about it
● My culture does not believe in mental health
● My culture views it as weakness

● Since they do not believe in mental health, they did not
reach out for support…as a result the family was broken
and suffered :(

What are some practices
that help support
your wellness?

● I relax and do pushups and punch my bag
● Journaling is great to calm the mind
● Self care and try to surround myself with people who will provide an
impact in my life
● Forcing myself to stop overthinking
● I forced myself to do meditation
● Coloring
● Show emotions and don’t bottle it in
● Draw
● Sometimes, I lean into the anxiety instead of trying to push it away.
Doing that often lessens the effect and allows me to breathe and
more past it.
● Yes! ^ Changing my environment, going to the gym helps me check
into a new space and use that anxious energy.
